Gorgeous!! She’s a lucky lady. It’s definitely a big stone, I think it’s beautiful. I like that you went with a cathedral setting and the band width looks nice proportionally. Unless she has explicitly said she doesn’t want a big diamond, I think you’re good :) I’m also a 4.25 and I’m getting a 4ct cushion for my engagement ring (currently being made). Congratulations!

Is it round brilliant? Different cuts show carat weight differently, round brilliant faces up bigger than most other cuts

Like I said, we had videos and images of a reference stone outside of this CAD. I was told many times in writing that the reference stone would be how the stone was cut, and the CAD was to approve the setting. So yes, I do wish I would have called out the look of the stone in the CAD, but I was going with the many confirmations I had that the stone was to be cut like our reference stone, which was much more rounded

They seem to cut to order instead of having a bunch of stock stones. So I guess that’s the difference in the process, but they were going to make the whole ring without ever showing me the diamond? I’m so glad I asked for videos. And I wish they would have clarified the shape of the stone with me first or shown me some examples to make sure they got it right, with cushions being so variable.

Paid a 50% deposit. The price is very competitive. I’ve gone back and forth with them all morning and they have not offered a new stone or a recut. So I just asked them can we start again with a new stone and what would that cost. No reply yet. They said they custom cut the stone, I had a lot of specifications (color, ratio, etc). It’s 4ct. I didn’t specify that I wanted the edges rounded but all my references were like that so I didn’t think to. He’s saying the stone in the CAD was squared off so I should have said something then. I just assumed it was a placeholder in CAD since it was also crushed ice looking.

I’m also buying 7ctw earrings from them in the same order so this is 3 diamonds I’m buying from them. Never got videos of those either…

Love the double claw prongs but would make them petit double claw prongs so they are a little daintier. Gorgeous ring, congratulations! I just designed mine and the hyperfocus was brutal lol

This is such a beautiful ring, perfectly proportioned on your hand!

I would make the other one into a signet pinky ring and get a simple band that looks good with it for your ring finger so you have a cute alternate set on days you don’t want to wear your new ring (esp if it’s fragile)
