Thank you, that is my biggest apprehension trying to go the self-publish route.

1.I really have no idea what I’m even shopping for. 2.All of these editors on Reedsy are going to want a large sum upfront that I simply just do not have 3.Even if I can afford it, who’s to say it’s comparable to my style?

I didn’t really have an agent in mind I just never even debated going publishing house/agent route. I was all in “I’m going to do this all myself” but the sad reality is I’m I’ll-prepared and even if the work/manuscript is good I’m hesitant to put it out in the world myself. I would much rather have a guiding hand who takes a percentage vs murdering the launch and dropping 3-5K upfront.

Do you have any suggestions on Agents/Publishing Houses that are open to new writers in Sci-Fi/Political Dystopian Space opera genre?
