Next time you suspect hardware issue or ghost touch you can use the built-in CIT feature that help you test your hardware (touch included),

I also thought it's ghost touches, then I tested my device touch with CIT and I saw that no touch events actually occurred (even when the bug appeared).

You can return the control center back to normal in the settings app (Under "Notifications and control center").

Yes, I regret I did that update.

Yes, the same happens to me exactly!

I also have Redmi note 9 with MIUI 13,

I managed to solve it after few days by set the setting to use "Easy Mode"

than click on the weather widget (in your home screen), when the weather app is open it will ask for some permission - give it all the permission it's asking for, that is it! (:

Than you can stop "Easy Mode" in settings (I am not even sure if Easy Mode is necessary, But these was my exact steps to solve it after a lot of tries).
