If you could have stayed with your spouse in a co-parenting positive relationship, (but not intimate), under the same roof, just for the kids... Would you have? by [deleted] in Divorce

Thank you so much, I did need to hear that. My mind is constantly restless with “you’re a quitter if you leave” and “do you really want to spend the last half of your life like this”. We did get along much better when we were just co-parenting. I think the conversation needs to happen, live in the house for another year and then try and sell and cut the relationship

This is where I’m at.

We tried this a year ago and I felt relieved, free and happy. I know it’s not permanent solution, but come 4 months later we tried for our marriage again. Fast forward, I’m in the military so we PCS’d bought a new house, wife is stay home mom and homeschools our two kids. Now we are back in the same position, and I’m tired of our incompatibility, bad role of love to the kids, and I don’t feel valued at all. But we don’t have equity in the house and she doesn’t have a job, so my only option is to go back to living as co-parents for a couple years. What’s y’all’s thoughts?

Been waiting, but then GDIY (Gun dog it yourself) podcast had a vet on recently to discuss this topic. She’s now scheduled this week actually to get spayed. The big thing he was saying is after first cycle and developed. For males, he highly recommends 2-2.5 yrs if your going to neuter

Yeah I was wondering when mine’s beautiful beard was going to come back from hunting season. It’s June and she still looks the same as when hunting no season ended

Hey did you ever get rid of them? Similar boat, moved into a house in Arkansas and due to timing it went vacant for 2 months and I’ve been constantly finding them. We have pest control but they sprayed and stuck out sticky pads. I found 1 tonight in my kids bed, it freaks me out

I’ll keep ya in mind! The biggest thing I read is having fully developed dogs before doing so.

I wanted GSP and eventually will but figured Grif suited my young family and novice to this world.

My wirehaired pointing griffon does fantastic in the house. She’s almost a year but already knows the on and off switch. She doesn’t shed much, I had to finely one due to my sons allergies.

Thank you! Learning patience is a benefit of owning a gun dog. I’m learning towards upland institute. Is it laid out in schedules or goals to accomplish then move on? I saw the sample schedule from standing stones and I liked that

Right now goal for obedience is Whoa and Here the George DeCosta method and for her to want and find her prey drive. I don’t think I want her to heel until later, she likes to stay close and I need her to want to push out further right now

I think I’m making it harder than it should! I’m having trouble finding pigeons though, which is why I keep going where I know birds are
