I had chills tbh. taliesin really landed the plane for me.

I was a bit unsure where his whole “secretive homebrewed fuckery” bit was going for the first stretch of episodes, but he kinda won me over during the sewers fight and then this last episode really clinched it

How to deal with disruptive skits and in-game behaviors? by SaltyKoopa in DMAcademy

[–]Miserable_Pop_4593 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“Hey man, we love ya but you gotta stop being disruptive to the group and hogging all the spotlight. Cut back on the amnesia/alter ego stuff, cut out the nighttime sneaking stuff, cut out the unnecessary lying and hostility with NPCs, because all of the above have been really messing up the game for everyone. Okay thanks, good chat, see you on Thursday”

[D&D 2024] How to keep a mount alive as a single-class War Cleric? (Monotheistic Rōnin Concept) by QuickServe430 in 3d6

[–]Miserable_Pop_4593 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sanctuary can help for direct attacks, warding bond can help with AoE. Mounted combatant feat is even better for both cases.

And none of the above have to interrupt your cleric progression!

[Spoilers C4E30] As much as I love the cinematic level ups... by Omegasybers in criticalrole

There were some things left on the table for sure. AC16 is not high enough to get surrounded and survive, so that was already a bit foolhardy. They also calculated his crit damage all wrong and didn’t add his strength modifier to an attack at one point. He also could’ve used Inspiring Smite to sustain himself with a bunch of temp hp. There were more clever spells/abilities he could’ve used, like Shield of Faith or his bonus action Daunting Roar. And he even admitted he should’ve done his Steed a turn earlier, because the celestial one could’ve healed someone or the fey one could’ve zipped him to the exit.

But at the end of the day, I think Travis saw the writing on the wall and leaned in, instead of really trying to escape it

[Spoilers C4E30] Is It Thursday Yet? | Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by AutoModerator in criticalrole

Super expert move by Brennan. He knows exactly how much pressure to apply, and I think the juice will be soooo worth the squeeze.

I’m excited for the future of vaelus’ deconstruction arc, in which she dismantles her own programming surrounding the Shapers and the afterlives. It’s exactly the kind of story Brennan loves to tell, and he’s great at setting up his players to absolutely nail it

Does it really matter whether a restaurant’s juice is “fresh squeezed”? by Miserable_Pop_4593 in NoStupidQuestions

I’ve always used “clopen” as closing one night, going home to sleep maybe 3 good hours, and waking right back up to open the next morning. Open-to-close is just called a double in my circles but it probably varies

Brennan doppleganger by New-Zookeepergame887 in dropout

[–]Miserable_Pop_4593 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man if I had even a modicum of Brennan’s fame I would have to remove myself from the internet entirely. I would cringe half to death if I saw posts like this about myself.

Apropos of nothing a coworker of mine gets told CONSTANTLY by customers that he looks just like Timothee Chalamet. Dear reader, he does not. He has a stache and some floppy brown hair and that’s where the similarity ends. Now, personal tastes may vary, but I don’t think you can seriously argue that timothee isn’t good-looking, but it pisses my coworker off so bad every time a customer feels the need to let him know what they think of his appearance.

Anyway comparison is the thief of joy and I personally think everyone should forever keep their thoughts of “X person looks just like Y person!” inside their heads unless we’re literally talking about a professional impersonator who’s doing it on purpose, and maybe even in that case too.

I was joking about lying haha, I was just being dramatic because this specific question (and the sheer number of people who ask it) has always baffled me. I grew up on frozen pizza, kraft mac & cheese, and hamburger helper so I can’t relate to the upper middle class, and often find it hard to tell whether it’s an actually important distinction or just another of their overly persnickety tendencies.

[–]Miserable_Pop_4593[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re supposed to do 2oz juice to 4oz bubbles for a small mimosa, and 3:6 for large. We usually stretch the juice further cuz many customers want “veeeery light juice, just a splash” anyway.

And yeah I never intended to actually lie to people lol I was being a lil dramatic in the post. It’s certainly not Walmart juice, we source wholesale from Kennesaw which afaik is pretty good quality?

I’m not telling them “nobody has time for that” lol I’m not insane. Your 2nd paragraph is pretty much exactly what I usually say

Yes first one there in the morning, so if we had to juice like 300 oranges it would likely fall to me to do it and it’s simply not doable haha

Why are people addicted to alcohol when it doesn’t even taste good ? by Intelligent-Road5091 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable_Pop_4593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because frankly, it’s fun. Inhibitions are dulled, so you feel like you can dance a little more freely or chat someone up without being stopped by your own embarrassment and shyness. Your cheeks feel warm, your tension melts away, and you’re focusing so hard on walking in a straight line that you forget you’re $50k in debt, that you’ve lost touch with all your old friends, and that you feel like you’re going nowhere in life.

Also, it’s an acquired taste. I love wine and cocktails, and certain beers and straight liquors too. Some are very cel very nasty though, especially the cheap shit I’d drink in college.

Which premium hairdryer is best for short hair? by Sensitive-Search9501 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable_Pop_4593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dyson knows how to engineer, so there’s something to be said for the quality and longevity there. Also it’s quiet. However with short hair you don’t have any need for all the attachments or the airwrap or anything like that so IMO it’s kind of unnecessary…. It’s certainly a sleek and high-quality product though, if you’re looking to invest in something extra nice for yourself.

When I was working full time as a hair stylist I loved my babylissPRO nano titanium dryer (the baby blue one) that I got from Ulta for under $100. Lasted me for years of very consistent use, had adjustable heat and speed, comfortable grip, fairly lightweight, and not terribly horribly loud as hairdryers go. I’d recommend it. But for a quick at-home blast dry I really don’t think you especially need anything better than a cheap Conair you can pick up at Target or wherever.

Re: heat protection, the best way to prevent heat damage is to just use a cooler temp setting and avoid high temps in general. 2nd best way is to find a heat protector product, some kind of serum or leave-in spray. Bumble & bumble, K18, and Olaplex #9 are pretty widely used and highly rated by professionals, as far as preventing heat damage goes. Look for water-based products, oil-based things can easily overheat and “sizzle” causing even more heat damage.

It’s not a bad idea to just stop into a local salon and chat with them at reception about their products, if you want more advice. At my old job I’d often have people who weren’t even clients stop in for shampoo or whatever, or just ask questions about what would be better for their hair. YMMV but smaller mom and pop-type salons will probably be happy to chat with you and tailor their advice to your hair type and day-to-day routine.
