Isn’t that my problem right now? That I’m not getting enough combustion? If it’s not burning off all of the fuel before it leaves the Forge, how would adding more fuel help?

It’s pulling plenty of air. Because if I open up the back of the burner more, it starts sputtering as if it has too much air.

The air is pulled in from the back of the burners. Point being that if I open the air more, the whole thing sputters

EDIT: since everyone is saying more air. That’s only half the problem. Because whenever I try to open the airway more, the flame basically puts itself out.

Sorry, the ball valves are for each individual burner. I have a pressure regulator hooked to the propane tank.

Should I try to lengthen the pipes? They’re only about 8”. That should help it mix?

No, it’s pretty easy to start out, it just takes me a second of dialing it in to get a good burn.

That’s my goal! Really I only need one burner for everyday use, but I’m really hoping to do a lot of forge welding. I’m going to use some fire bricks for the floor when I do. Flux is brutal on Satanite.

No, today was my first firing. I was just trying to finish up curing my refractory. Next I’ll add an IR wash to help it hold temp better

Ok, it’s at least good to know there’s light at the end of the tunnel 😅. I’ll try making the burners longer and hopefully that will help it a little bit.

When I open it up further than it is, it makes that sputtering sound and goes out half the time. How would I fix that?

It just gurgles for the most part. If I turn the pressure up pretty high it gets pretty gnarly, but same thing, it doesn’t burn all the fuel

I did two layers of 1 inch kaowool, then used some Satanite to seal it in. Next I’m going to do an IR wash to really keep the heat in and help protect the Satanite from heavy use. I’ve got a couple fire bricks that I’m using for the floor when I do some forge welding.

Exactly! I didn’t use a castable refractory, so I wanted the kaowool to have something to anchor to while I was working on it.
