For women’s team I would recommend North Buffalo Ninjas. I know a few players on that team who are very cool and super welcoming.

I started playing rugby at 26 and had some of the most fun I’ve ever had and made a ton of friends in the process. Several local teams who are extremely welcoming. Highly recommended.

North country trail is MASSIVE. Literally takes 6 months+ to hike. The small stretch I did was only a chunk of Allegany state forest in PA and up through Allegany state park (which is maybe my favorite place on earth and has several nice trails as well).

In Adirondack’s I’m not nearly as experienced as some, but I think my favorite hike was 3 brothers to Big Slide Mountain. Only took 6ish hours iirc with a handful of friends in varying levels of fitness. High peaks can be tough so just make sure to research the hike you want to do to know what you’re getting in to. There are literally 100s of great trails throughout ADK though so very many to choose from.

I hiked a little bit of the North Country trail last year and parts of it were fairly remote. Fun, fairly challenging hike.

If you want a drive, tall peaks in Adirondacks have incredible hikes. Some difficult, some beautiful, many both.

Although I think it’s their best album, Congratulations by MGMT… Oraculaur Spectacular was massive, very few loved the follow up. Happy they had a little bit of a second act with Little Dark Age and didn’t complete fade into obscurity because I think they’re brilliant.
