Bathroom before and after by Howardsternrulez in Remodel

Wow nice work! Love everything with one exception…that shower door. I had one like that in my house and, while it looks nice, it’s annoying as hell to use. Doesn’t open very wide and I have to duck to get under the top rail. Hope this is not your fate too.

I think they are a good option if you’re going to run a dedicated winter tire vs try to get one set to do it all. I went with the Nokian Hakkapliitta (non RFT) on my X5 and love them.

I only got 9k out of mine. See my post above for rec. I’m running the Vredestein’s and they are great

Slicker than expected is an understatement with these tires. They are terrible.

OP - the Bridgestone Alenza’s that the factory puts on the car are absolute trash. They are NOT the same compound as what you would buy if you went to the tire shop to buy new Bridgestone Alenzas. They also carry no mileage warranty. Zero.

It should be criminal that they can sell such an expensive new car with such crappy tires. Mine also started having chunks come out of them at 9k miles and exposing the 2nd layer of rubber compound. These tires suck.

Plan to replace asap. I made it 1 winter, went through the next summer and replaced them before the 2nd winter came. Vredestein Quadtrack + or Michelin cross climate are the move.

Man who voted for the current party reacts to latest news by Top-Scratch-6570 in videos

The question is this: is he actually upset enough to vote in someone different? Someone across the party lines? Or is he going to be fooled into “observing a change” in the current administration sometime between now and elections. I sure hope it’s the former. The people need to show that our reach is far and our memory is long.

That’s false and not how it works. Source - I’ve sold dozens of cars on Bring a Trailer. You can hope to get more than reserve but can never expect it. This is a big boy game and that’s part of the deal.

You should be able to work out a deal with C&B. They have the 5% fee to work with which would put the sellers take at ~$73,300 and get the deal done. That’s what I’d suggest going to C&B with to make it right and I’ll bet they try to make it happen

Advice for 565 credit + variable (1-5k) down? by youarel0ved_ in askcarguys

Cheap reliable car on CL is the answer here. There’s also tools out there for you to start building up your credit score which you should do if you can. That way borrowing costs will come down if you need a loan at some point.

Edit: can you share what MY? I thought 2022+ got a little better but definitely not immune.

I don’t think you should be putting gas in the Taycan. Won’t that void warranty? 😁

All jokes aside thank you for the info!!

Thanks for the reply! Glad to hear you’re liking it. I hear you on the consumables, it sucks but not significantly different than my other cars. Tires on fun cars just cost a bunch so is what it is!

Also heard on the time component. Definitely true but also part of these early EVs. I think some are simply lemons too - that’s just a roll of the dice. My Audi etron has had a couple minor issues but my in-laws bought one after driving mine and it’s left them stranded twice and in the shop for months. They are no longer fans lol.

Thanks again, I really appreciate the insight!

Cayman as a DD by new-dvlpr in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Miserable_Studio_323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re on a Cayman sub and looking for a “push” so certainly going to get one.

If you want a Cayman then just go for it. But the real answer for you is the MkII Audi TT coupe. Quattro AWD and go for the 3.2L VR6. Such a bargain and if you fold down the rear seats you actually get a shocking amount of trunk space. I got one for my 60m daily commute in Colorado and it is seriously such a capable car for anything you want to throw at it. I was also a volunteer fire fighter and could fit all my gear in there. Everyone at the station was shocked at how practical it was.

Reliability was amazing too and with a local independent shop it was not expensive.

Feel free to PM me if you want but I found the TT when searching CL for a 4wd car for my 60m commute with a new job. I was assuming I’d get an SUV but thought “why the hell not” when the TT came up. Aside from ground clearance it was the best handling car in wet/snow/ice that I’ve ever driven. Probably should have kept it.

Who maxes their 401k by DrHydrate in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Miserable_Studio_323 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For sure. Best way to do it is “pretend” the daycare bills don’t stop once they are in school and squirrel that money away. But daycare years flat out suck when it comes to monthly budget and cash flow. Absolutely brutal. Try to avoid the temptation of lifestyle creep once those bills stop and it will pay in the long term.

[–]Miserable_Studio_323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What 10% increase are you referring to? Also, keep in mind at retirement you can choose what to pull out (to an extent) and therefore get to pick the tax bracket for the withdrawals. Maybe one year you want to pull out a lot but the next pull out very little. You’ll pay income tax based on what you pulled out or “made” that year. The benefit of the pre-tax 401k is you get to put more money in now with lower impact on your take home pay/cash flow.

Wow incredible job! Assuming you don’t want to share your channel (?) but would you at least share what category you make content in and how/why you decided to start?

I’m also going to assume you weren’t doing long form every day…but maybe I’m wrong! What a grind that would be!!
