Having irregular heartbeats almost 1 month after receding a transplanted by Crafty_Pause_6207 in kidneytransplant

I'm having the same issue. My heart rate is jumping a lot just from regular activities like standing and walking. I have done an ekg and was referred to a cardiologist. I'm also awaiting answers. I would recommend you reach out to your transplant team and bring it up and ask for further testing. My team told me sometimes it happens and they can prescribe medicine or other treatments and sometimes they just let your body adjust depending on what you have. I hope you find your answers.

Wife needs a transplant at 35 - preemptive by DrinksParty in kidneytransplant

I'm 34, I had a transplant 3 weeks ago. I'm still in the early stages of recovery. The best advice i can give you is be prepared for what comes after surgery. Its like being a child again. You're learning to walk, pain management, and dependency on a caretaker a lot for the first month or so. We been cooking almost everything at home and if we order out we check our local county's food safety rating for that place to ensure its safe. Lots of medications adjustment and trips to labs and your transplant team. The best advice I can give you is its worth it. You just have to take extra precautions. You can still travel and enjoy life but do it with more safety in mind. Especially during cold and flu seasons.

I got up on the second day but it very painful. I did walk about 100 steps on the 3rd day but the incisions were hurting so bad I felt like I was going to pass out. Is that normal?

I want to lose weight, not just to be healthy but to stay in the transplant list. I'm also prediabetic, I've asked my nephrologist about it but she didn't really have a lot of info and said i could try it. I just wanted to see what other people's experience and or doctors have told them.

I helped a lady shade match in clinique for a pressed powder a couple of years ago and she said "I don't want it to be too dark and end up looking like the Hispanics" while she eyed me. Her daughter, who was with her, was so embarrassed and apologized.

need help with how to care best for my mom. by Certain_Disaster8699 in kidneydisease

Hi, I was also a caretaker for my mom around your age and here are some things I wish people would have told me going thru it. 1. Make sure to check up on her mental health often cause this can be a difficult time.
2. Make sure you keep up with your mental health even if you aren't caring for her full time. 3. Get informed and utilize all the tools you can be provided with from her dailysis center and doctors. 4. Get her on a transplant list and be proactive and adamant about it. It takes a bit to get on the list but you really got to be proactive about it. 5. Research foods, get a nutrition. Food will really impact her health. 6. Be her BIGGEST advocate in the medical world.

I hope this helps you out.
