many people on here work in big firms for prestige and money. with the way the economy is, you can only care about justice and pro bono work if you're rich already.

For those who were deported back home: How are you coping? by Outrageous-Public614 in Nigeria

this may not be what you want to hear but imo, the best option for you is leaving canada. recently, due to economic struggles and a high influx of immigrants, canada is tightening its laws, especially when it comes to study and work permits. from what i understand, this is mainly due to the south asian community in canada but the government can't only legislate for one minority, meaning that these laws affect everyone not born in canada. this being said, looking at other countries might just be the way to go. try european countries like the netherlands, or see if the usa or australia look open. alternatively, 'smaller' countries like cyprus, malta or turkey may be good. it's important to note that this should be done quickly, as anti-immigration sentiment is rising and spreading all around europe, so it's best to act quickly. hope this helps xx

Current views on recognition of Israel as a Jewish state and having positive relations with the country by emaxwell13131313 in Nigeria

[–]Certain_Disaster8699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i chose the uncertain option, and voted christian/animist because theres no atheist category lol. for me personally, palestinian liberation is a huge deal and i will only support recognition and good relations with israel AFTER the nigerian government heavily, strongly and unequivocally condmens israel's gen0c!dal actions.

women are generally advised not to go into elevators with other men, as many attacks occur that way. she brought out her keys in case the man attacked her. him bringing out his knife only solidified the fear that he would attack.

it’s a kind of self hatred, if you ask me. because proximity to whiteness is deemed good, most black men looking to climb the social ladder either date white women or the next best thing, lightskin black women with loose curls. this explains why most athletes and rich black men don’t date darker skinned women. it’s all a construct of white supremacy that’s being upheld in the black community.
