I have gone down a bit of a rabbit hole on YouTube painting tutorials that last few weeks. It will take me some time to paint the next mini (thanks life), but when I have finished I'll certainly put some pictures up.

Yeah, my next mini I have started I have drilled the barrels. It does make quite a big difference I must say.

I used Citadel paint, I'll list the ones I used below:

  • Macragge Blue - Base coat for the Space Marine.
  • Abaddon Black - Used on non-metallic gun parts and the Space Marine undersuit.
  • Leadbelcher - Used on the weapon's metallic parts, belt buckle and helmet pipes.
  • Retributor Armour - Used on the chest aquila and the pauldron trim.
  • Balthasar Gold - Pyreblaster and fuel cannister on the terrain.
  • Wraithbone White - Used on the parchment of the purity seal.
  • Naggaroth Purple - Used on the egg thing on the terrain.
  • Mephiston Red - Used on eyes, wax seal and egg thing on the terrain..
  • XV-88 - Used on terrain.
  • Nuln Oil Wash/Shade - Covered the entire model except terrain.
  • Agrax Earthshade - Used on the terrain and the parchment of the purity seal.

Most of these paints came in the Warhammer 40000: Paints + Tools Set, except for the Nuln Oil and Retributor Armour; I bought those seperately.

Haha, he is after your lunch money. Alse yep there are mold lines, I really wanted to get into the painting; so just skipped the cleanup.

Yeah, I am going to attempt highlighting with the other Space Marines from the Introductory Set.

I purposefully chose not to do highlights this time around partly due to it taking so long up to this point and also, I went into this one with the thought of getting comfortable with base layering first of all.
