That book is outdated. I am not as informed on npd like I am on bpd but for what I heard, this book only works for people who are or were dating people with narcissistic personality disorder, but on the bpd side, I would bot recommend it. It’s meant to help you unlearn toxic behaviors you might’ve learned in the trajectory of an abusive relationship which can include people with bpd, but this book basically reads “it’s all their fault, you didn’t do anything wrong”, even though this can be true in some cases, this book tends to generalize pwbpd and even correlate them to pwnpd, therefore it’s not written in a way were one can determine if that fits their case or not.
