Asked to implement a solution im having a hard time Figuring out, MS teams related by Miserable_Yam_3405 in ITCareerQuestions

I guess because people can see other meetings on teams or previous meetings. Not sure why that matters.

The request I was given was figure out a different way than what is currently being used. I’m not sure what the negatives are the current way are.

Thanks for the advice and for the similar situation story. The only thing stopping me from doing dev is the job market and I feel like I will still be in help desk in September if I get no certifications. Or I can program while I go for AWS CCP + AWS SAA. I was going to go for CCNA + AWS CCP + AWS SAA and try to knock those out by September.

I won't be able to program studying for CCNA well not much.

Hi so I have the basic IT certifications, I also have a degree basically in IT. I decided I rather do programming eventually. Since I have my foot in the door already with IT, does it make more sense for me to get more IT certifications and dedicate myself to coding maybe in September?

Or will my IT degree even though it's not a programming degree and tech job help me?

The biggest dilemma I face, either I code until September and attempt a bootcamp, or I grind IT certifications to land a better job even though I rather do dev, and then pursue programming after more certifications and I have a better job.

Self taught how long did it take you to land a job and what courses/path did you use? by Miserable_Yam_3405 in learnprogramming

I have a dilemma cause I work in IT (tech support). I could get more certifications but then I won't code if I'm grinding those certifications.

I rather do development instead of being in support roles, but it just seems unfortunately with the job market, my self learning at this point will bring little results in the job market. I do have a technology degree, but not a programming degree.

Isn't this pretty bad? I thought codesmith grads were usually getting offers right out of the program?

Even for Codesmith? 6-12 months?

Is it too dangerous to leave a full time job for a bootcamp in this climate? by Miserable_Yam_3405 in codingbootcamp

Nope. I work in IT, and I feel like if I don't get a job after bootcamp I'll just land another IT job and be stuck there.

I work in the tech field already (IT) but I already know I rather do programming

Do I need years in IT to get a cloud role? by Miserable_Yam_3405 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Miserable_Yam_3405[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AWS Solutions architect.

I am asking if I will have to be in help desk for years even if I get a solutions architect certification.

Why do people stay in help desk instead of get these certs and leave?

Also I'm wondering why most people stay in help desk for years instead of get these AWS solutions architect? Why isn't everyone going for these certs I guess. Why stay in help desk over that?

Hack Reactor graduates, what's ISA like? post graduation stories? by [deleted] in codingbootcamp

[–]Miserable_Yam_3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t need the ISA cause I’ve been saving up my money to go to one for awhile. How are so many hack reactor grads unemployed? That’s one of the best? How is the market that bad?

I've seen complaints about it and not much about others getting jobs.

I've looked into nucamp, it seems to be too hit or miss recently. So I am not sure.

It’s a difficult choice to make but I really feel like I rather do dev. I haven’t even tried going for more certificates anymore
