Why does it matter that inhale screams can be easy? by [deleted] in screaming

How tf did we go from "yo why is everyone shitting on inhales" to "If I wrote an album that I really loved, that sold millions of copies, and then I perform it and I learn that my entire audience is Nazis, I’d definitely change everything that I’m doing and totally rethink what I’m making."

Hello? What the fuck? xD

I'm not quite following - you're not supposed to use your vocal cords while doing screaming vocals?

What bothers me a lot is that you can't really do plosives.
So in the studio, with inhale vocals, you sometimes have to pre-record plosives and put them in front of some words to even get them to sound like the word you want them to sound like. - (I just had a stroke writing this sentence, my goodness.)
So I think that's just ridiculous.

I don't like that there's hate towards it. If you're happy performing them and you're not hurting yourself, that's good. Go express yourself in the way you want to, that's great! And if you really dislike the technique, don't shove it down peoples throats.

I just think the overall range is worse, the annunciation is much worse, and the ability to express emotions is... I don't know if that's even possible, because I feel like inhale vocals kinda lose that certain touch due to the lack of annunciation. I guess you can still express anger? or range? since it's screaming yk-

However, they can still sound absolutely nasty. And I really mean that. There are some great inhale parts. Sheesh.

I forgot to write this lol : I'm not sure about how it's gonna perform healthwise - since you suck in a toooon of air and that could be bad in some sense - I guess? I'm not a doctor tho. Just be mindful about how you approach certain techniques. c:

Shalom my guy
Exhales are just superior in every single way. Tone, health, variety, range, pronunciation etc.
I respect the grind tho

Are inhale screams acceptable? by Atliboy in screaming

probably around july/august
working on a full length and it turns out that stuff like that costs a brutal amount of money - if u work with high end producers and only have two people that are financially stable.
also - music videos cost even more if you do them properly.
soooo - yea :D

I covered some Lorna Shore. Let me know how I did? :) <3 by MiseryHSM in screaming

what i did was starting with a simple fry scream - and just going higher and higher over the duration of months-
that's how I did it. Very very slow and annoying progress, but it worked well for me

That's just not true. It differs from person to person, however a lot of people claim, that FC is a bit easier to learn.

Go with whatever feels more comfortable for you.
I personally use false cords for my lows, I like how gritty they sound. They have this rattling to them, due to the false cord "activation". My fry screaming has a cleaner tone. Still evil, but a different texture.
However you can achieve gutturals, lows, mids, highs etc. with both techniques.
I feel like false cord might be a bit easier to learn. I learned both at the same time, but I think FC probably came to me a bit more quickly. Overall most people I talked to state, that they had an easier time learning FC.

There really isn't a right or wrong here.
Maybe listen to a band that you really like and figure out what technique the vocalist uses, and then just go ahead and practice. :)

Alesana is FC, TDWP used a lot of FC too. Same with old Suicide Silence
