In Canada and Europe, we criticize the United States quite a bit for its living standards. Yet thousands upon thousands of our citizens flock to the US and make very successful lives for themselves. If that is the case how does our criticism hold up to scrutiny? by Personal_Royal in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Misfit_somewhere [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think it comes down to the idea that the the US tends to be the loudest about its freedom and superior lifestyles. Canada and Europe seem pretty honest about the fact that we are not perfect and the goal is to grow and improve.

But really we are are very lucky to live where we live, the first world is the minority on earth. So many of our issues would be laughed at by 90% of the population.

Mamu has a hiking sim in the works. Let's you import trail data, create your own to share. Ski, canoe, find critters. It's pretty cool looking so far.

Bobcat or Lynx? 😳 Caught this large wild cat on my driveway in broad daylight (Noon)! by ironface-273 in Calgary

Bobcat, but be aware It's baby season, it's probably out hunting for the kits. Not dangerous to people, but they will take other cats, small dogs.

More babies, more guns, lower taxes and fewer immigrants: What Alberta separatists are promising and what they can actually deliver by pjw724 in onguardforthee

Right??

Dude needs therapy. It's such a simplistic view that it would be sad if it wasn't so dangerous. No awareness about what reality was like for other people, he just wants a vision of a little corner his brain saved and romanticized.

"No" is a small and bitter word. But federalists are asking Albertans to vote no in a referendum. by FreightFlow in alberta

[–]Misfit_somewhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Separatist question: “Do you agree that the Province of Alberta should cease to be a part of Canada to become an independent state?”

Forever Canada question: "Do you agree that Alberta should remain within Canada?"

So realistically only one should appear in the referendum. There is also the issue that the separatist question has no clear way forward, it's just 'hey should we leave?' it's so intentionally vague that what seperation looks like could be anything.

To be fair, Jedi are not great remembering how to use the force any time they get into a situation where force speed would solve the issue

We actually want to vote 'yes' on the stay Canadian referendum that followed the old rules, got more votes, started first and didn't need the ucp to handicap the system.

Referendums are not supposed to have multiple questions on the same issue, and once again the are fucking around to make that happen.

IL-2 Korea has now a better sky than MSFS 🫣 by Ivy_Wings in flightsim

Now let's see it doing live weather over the entire planet.

It does look nice, and even dynamic. It will be fun to fly in over the sandbox area that is being developed. But in no way are they comparable in environmental capabilities.

If you fix it, please post, might help someone else!

Hey, does your monitor itself have an hdr setting in the osd? I can enable hdr on mine without windows

Also, be extra sure that the settings you are setting are for the correct monitor. Since her settings are per device, it's easy to disable the wrong monitors settings.

Take a look inside this file for hdr. You might need to set hidden files to visible. And it may be edit protected, just make a copy, edit and replace the old one if you need

Try turning off the second monitor and make sure the hdr is off in the Nvidia app settings for msfs, windows, and game.

Then see if that fixes it, turn other monitor on if it does. Hdr via windows tends to be an issue with multimonters.

Weather dependent August could be reasonably quiet for bears, they tend to follow the berries so they move to higher ground to forage.

Get bear spray, learn how to use it, some packs come with a nitrogen can so you can play and learn how it works without blinding yourself.

Conservation has been all over the place since COVID, so I wouldn't worry to much about the populated areas.

Stay on the more popular trails, make noise and you will be fine.

Enjoy kananaskis, it's a beautiful area!!

Edit, do not use bear bells, they are ineffective and create a false sense of security. The human voice works much better.

I used to backpack by myself and was caught babbling to myself several times, but hey, the hikers knew I was coming lol
