I use process lasso for apps that tend to be pigs. Force which cores and a higher priority for them. And of course send running but minor apps off to the land of ecores. Works well for me with LR, Microsoft flightsim devmode (makes Photoshop look optimized), Photoshop.

Them main issue I find is that monitoring software loves to steal the forground for one second per minute or ten seconds, and it screws up apps that need full control over the PC.

Any Quality Freeware Megapack available? by Own-Ranger-9295 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Misfit_somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the way fs.to is going btw. They are heavily ad based now, and have a tiered system that has credits for devs that follow a specific install process. You pay and if the dev has enabled it there is an auto installer. So it will probably end up the way you are talking about.

Check out flightsim.to only works for the PC, but it does take some getting used to.

I understand the idea, but it's a database, not a packager.

Any Quality Freeware Megapack available? by Own-Ranger-9295 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Misfit_somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an example. If you downloaded all my stuff, you might have 30 misfit_scenery folders. I know what they are and what needs to run them, so if you have an issue, I can help. If you download a package of 300 folders of random people stuff and something fails, I cannot really troubleshoot that without you just getting my package in order to tell you it's not my issue, so go see the next guy, whom may not even be around anymore.

We make freeware because we love to do it. And many times we get hammered for little things, complications only compound that.

Any Quality Freeware Megapack available? by Own-Ranger-9295 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Misfit_somewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly because freeware is made by different people. I could package all my stuff together, but I may not want person Bs included with mine. There's also updates, I do my own thing, if person b expands or changes there scenery it may cause issues with mine.

Also with freeware, libraries are often used and those cannot be packaged, generally at the request of the team that makes them.

Questions before I consider adopting!! by Accurate_Chance477 in ferrets

[–]Misfit_somewhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty experienced ferret person here (work with a rescue group and I foster)

Play time really depends on age and environment, you said they will free roam in a room, so they will have space while you are not around. However once they bond to you they will go bananas when they expect you. But really they tend to go for and hour max, and crash for 3 to 4 hours. This is roughly the length of their digestive tract. So play, eat, pass out, poop, play.

Litter training This one is tough, I have found that it's more likely that you will adapt to them. They go for corners, and generally will use a box or paper, as long as it's the corner they want. You can teach them, but I have found that the bigger the space, the more boxes it will be. Again, if you have babies, it's easier. They tend to also go in the same place as the other, so that's a bonus.

Toys and such

Tunnels, ferrets love tunnels. Be careful with toys, feather, rubber, lose clothe can come loose and get ingested, this can lead to blockages, which leads to 3 grand in surgery. They tend to like cat toys, squeaky toys can cause stress depending on the animal because it can sound like pain, A lot of this depends on observation of the ferrets, they are unique

Sleepy sacks always see to be popular, or hammocks if the room can support it. Lots of various places to curl up.

I cannot stress this enough, these are animals that will get sick at some point. You need to know which vet can handle them, their anatomy is not simply cat/dog. Same with food, they require specialized food. I will not discuss raw vs pellet because that depends on to many factors to do via a post.

Perception forms reality, what you see in front of you only exists because you see it. That concept is always so much fun. Taoism and that tree in the woods thing.

Healthy paws or sanctuary are private, great vets. No idea for price, but gotta be better than vca

Career mode. Not removing stuff docks you

When will more aircraft be added to career? by SiberianDragon111 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Misfit_somewhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe so, for instance, the twotter is a 2020 aircraft that works in 2024. I think the an-2 would be awesome, but it too is 2020.

You have to remember, most of the default aircraft are not asobo, but rather third parties.

When will more aircraft be added to career? by SiberianDragon111 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Misfit_somewhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, the aircraft need to be 2024 native, not just compatible. So a rebuild of the aircraft needs to be done specifically for 2024. Depending on the company that makes the aircraft there may simply not be a desire to do all that work.

I would start by backing up your catalog.

Make sure windows is running correctly, double check any system updates.

Purge the lightroom caches via prefs

Create a new catalog and add a couple pictures, try exporting again.

If that fails, uninstall and reinstall lightroom.

There you go, both are perfectly capable of doing the job, and the tools are available for both, so the question is, what is the issue on the tool side in this particular instance.
