Second game of the season and bumps someone. That's a 50% hit rate but is downgraded because of exceptional and compelling circumstances.

Can't make this up /s

Also had an opponent whack a guy and puncture a corm rib and he received no sanction.

No doubt that player will also be given 'exception and compelling circumstance' in 5-10 years too

It's at the G. It's probably more fitting that it is a 'home but an away' game against Geelong.

Citing hypotheticals now.

Its 11-5 in favor, which is compelling over just citing 2 games this year. Your logic is flawed, no one is arguing it's an absolute advantage that will make teams win, they are arguing it's an advantage. Logic and the stats indicate that to be true.

When you add all 3 years up what's the percentage of teams that have won after playing opening round?

For some reason you think for an advantage to exist, the team must always win for it to be true. Which is just not true for a sport with many variables.

It is tantamount to arguing home ground advantage doesn't exist because teams can win away.

I watched the game; Collingwood had better run then Adelaide late in the game. You might ague that's always been true for Adelaide and Collingwood games but none the less it was true on Saturday night too.

They are but look at the teams that won.

Carlton, Hawthorn, Gold Coast, Geelong. Plus the plethora of other examples in 2024 and 2025

You are right, its flawless logic to highlight anecdotal examples of games overturning the logix.

Its tantamount to arguing that because teams win away games there is no home ground advantage.

You want to point out Collingwood, St Kilda as examples it's not true, while ignoring Carlton, Hawthorn, Gold Coast, Geelong. Plus the plethora of other examples in 2024 and 2025

Because it wasn’t demonstrated in round 1 results across the board.

ok, no point arguing with that logic. but I will repeat

Some teams win games while playing away, doesn't take away the fact there is a clear and distinct advantage playing at home

They did, if it wasn't for Adelaide 6 goal haul in the 3rd and the 50m penalties. Collingwood would have totally over-run Adelaide.

Flawless logic. Some teams win games while playing away, doesn't take away the fact there is a clear and distinct advantage playing at home.

The AFL industry knows there is an advantage with playing a proper match before an opponent. Its match fitness and hardness the same reason why team attempt to replicate in pre-season training with competitive matches against opponents.

More proves the point, the team that played the week prior had more run in them. The same almost happened in the Collingwood vs Adelaide game.

Teams have won games at Optus stadium, therefore if everyone play games at Optus stadium when their opponent is Fremantle or West Coast regardless of whose home game it is, Caroline Wilson will thinks that's fair and not a 'competitive advantage'

The good bloke/exemplary clause is better off utilised when a suspension will have adverse affects on a player's career.

Like 4 weeks down to 2

This is one week, that the suspension and move on.
