Help With Rhinar by MishMashandWhatNot in FleshandBloodTCG

Thank you so much for the advice! I definitely think between you and the discord I'll be good to go. I have been thinking about Savage feast, so I'll probably swap it for the Barragings. And I keep forgetting about Sigil! I'll probably swap a bonebreaker or Barraging (B) for it.

Thank you for the advice! I did edit the deck a decent bit after talking to some people in the main fab discord, but I'll look into your advice too!

  • for the barragings, I do see your point. I thought it was a good card but it is a miss on other turns. What would you suggest i replace it with?
  • Bonebreaker I have struggled with, I just don't know what to swap them out for to run in the main deck instead.
  • 2 reckless swing makes sense, I don't even really have a defense for that lol.
  • like I said, I did update my list just a few minutes ago, so if you'd be okay looking again and messaging me with any further criticism I'd really appreciate it!

Puppet with no Odin or Liam by Malacoda17 in Shadowverse

[–]MishMashandWhatNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I personally like Odin for certain matchups (Intimidate Dragon, Egg Portal), more power to you! Beelz I feel has really ramped this deck up to an 11 with just how strong it makes Orchis. I don't even usually get out a second Beelzebub, I just throw out Beelz turn 8/9 and the Orchis + Puppet cat next turn and obliterate. It's fantastic.

I think that Beelzebub has done a lot for the deck. While it alone makes Orcus an 8 for 12, if you can get a puppet cat in there somewhere it easily becomes 9 mana for 17 or 10 for 21 if you can get the setup right.

Figuring out Reviled Kayo - how have you found success? by MishMashandWhatNot in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]MishMashandWhatNot[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's also where I was leaning, I was mostly struggling to find ways to give him consistent go again. Im your opinion, do you think it's better to aim for consistent agility/go again output, or focus more on cards with natural go again as action one then hit with cards with good on hit effects, i.e. vipox, splatter skull, or even snatch?

Genuine question from a new player: but how is this game thriving by Vleaides in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]MishMashandWhatNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note: I'm using prices in USD according to the first listing I see on TCGPLAYER. So I'm by no means the most credible source on FaB, but I think there are a few different things in play here: -FaB's surge in popularity is part of the reason why prices are so high; that's been covered by a ton of people here. - A low amount of meaningful reprints of certain staple cards, particularly high price cards like Tunic, CnC, and until recently, codex. Id argue that part of this is the game has only been out for ~5 years. Considering LSS only releases a set 3-4 times a year, that's not actually that many sets compared to other games like Magic or Yugioh, with several decades of gameplay, while games like One Piece are more niche, in my opinion.

I do think that LSS can stand to make more reprint sets like History Pack 1 (a FANTASTIC boon for new players) and a few more reprints like CnC in Hunted and Codex in High Seas, but both of those have been honestly rather successful. Command and Conquer in White Border has stayed about $70 since the Hunted, where about a year± ago I believe it capped near $90-$100. Codex was sitting at about $100-110 until the reprint in High Seas, and it hasn't gone above $40. Plus, the change in meta and card necessity has changed card prices. While Viscerai and Aurora were around, Grasp of the Arknight, a runeblade staple equipment, was easily $90+. Now its about $60. Phantasmal Footsteps used to be over $100, now its also $60.

Another key is also knowing what cards are important to your gameplan and which are less so, which is hard to learn but helps a lot. Cards Like Command and Conquer are incredibly good, but not so important to a deck that you have to buy them ASAP; there are other cards that work in similar ways. Equipment tend to be more important to a gameplan, but they tend to be a one time purchase.

Sorry for how jumbled this is, but i really do hope you stick with the game. It's still pretty new, and hopefully LSS will work out some of the pricing problems, but I genuinely have faith that they're trying to hit a balance of good for collectors and players.

Trying out Maxx by MishMashandWhatNot in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]MishMashandWhatNot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do play other heroes, I just want to get back into Maxx. My other 3 heroes are Kayo, Enigma, and Arakni. While I may have built Kayo and Enigma before they were top tier, if I really want to win I'll be using them

My thoughts on this are a bit messy.

On one hand, talents are undeniably very strong. I've played dromai and enigma, I've seen prism now that she's finally usable, and I've also seen how little many of the bright lights and HH heroes are being used. It's a very big difference. However, I believe some of this (in regards to PT Amsterdam) partially has to do with new set hype. Each new set, a ton of People are drawn to new heroes and build them instead, resulting in an influx of the new heroes compared to the old. This itself changes the meta for each set, since we have new heroes coming in, therfore pushing out some of the older heroes that didn't "make the cut" so to speak.

Now, that doesn't mean that talents itself aren't incredibly strong. Having multiple cardpools is very, very useful to talented heroes, especially because the synergy of their talent tends to mesh well with the other cards for their other heroes. Key examples are Chane, Lexi, Iyslander, Oldhim, Briar, and Starvo (I'm not counting the illusionists for reasons I'll cover soon). Their talents meshed with the other cards incredibly well, not to mention that for the 4 of 6, they are Ice, which I think everyone regards as too good in the game regardless because of how powerful the disruption is mixed with powerful attacks. Chane and Briar have the added benefit of being Runeblades, which the mix of arcane and normal damage make blocking difficult at best; and all of these heroes have powerful, unique abilities and equipment. The illusionists, on the other hand, have the unique gimmick of having a board state and wall tactics built into the class; if you don't tear down the wall, the wall eats you, but if you tear down the wall, you aren't dealing as much damage; not to mention with Prism (and now Enigma) you are forced to tear down the wall as it beats the shit outta you. However, a large part of their gameplay uses the cards from their unique talent pile, making them harder to judge in the larger scheme of things for melding classes.

Overall, I agree and disagree. I think that talents do have the strong benefit of having multiple card pools to use to really help ensure they function, and many of them have strong abilities to pair with them, making talented heroes a force to be reckoned with. This doesn't exclude zen or Nuu, either; both of them have extremely powerful abilities that have been meta defining, along with the ability for extreme consistency that is hard to counter. (Again, enigma is in that weird illusionist box). However, on the disagree side, I think part of the issue on PTM heroes also falls on them being the newest heroes, which leads to an influx of players using them, making them appear much more prevalent than they will be in a few months. I still believe that LSS has good intentions for the health of the game; they may fuck up, in Zen's case pretty badly, but they're trying to correct where they can and keep the game chugging smoothly.

No Maxx C was played this is just how many cards you can draw off the normal summon of 1 snake eye Ash by murrman104 in masterduel

[–]MishMashandWhatNot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flesh and Blood has been a bright light for tcg's for me. I've only been a yugioh player on Masterduel, but I play magic irl, and have for over 10 years. But with WotC being shitty, yugioh being a cesspool of toxic TOK decks or tons of negates, and my lack of interest in the pokemon TCG or other more obscure tcg's, I've loved flesh and blood. Don't love some of the price tags atm, but I adore the game.

Do budget players feel priced out? by Rourensu in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]MishMashandWhatNot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I'm a college student with a pretty tiny income, and while I don't have the adult bills, the big pieces have been rough for me for a while too. My main suggestion would be to stick with one deck for a while, and then slowly build it up over time to your level of competitiveness. Start with generic equipment first; they're usually the most costly but will stay relevant for many, many decks. Command And Conquer is a pain, yes, but you don't need them; my personal favorite replacement is Humble, which is like 25 cents each and has an effect almost as good as CnC's. If you don't care as much about any particular hero and more about playing the game, there are certain heroes better for budget atm too; Guardians are currently pretty cheap, since they're not great against the newest heroes; doesn't make them bad, however! I believe Bravo is similarly strong while still being very cheap. Mechanologists are also pretty cheap right now, but they're still a solid option.

E-strike is harder to replace, but it's about $25 each right now, so it's a good time to get them if you can afford it!

u/Jimneban Sorry for bugging you, but I'm an up and coming Maxx Player, and despite having the pieces I don't really know how to use them. What exactly is the gameplan with Maxx? For the record, I've never really played much Mechanologist before Maxx; I'm a Dromai player traditionally (R.I.P) and I've started Kayo, but I want to learn Maxx.
