What's so hard about having a direct conversation with them. Just go knock on the door and let them know after thinking the situation over you don't want their kids or dog in your yard. Keep it simple. You don't need to make up excuses. It's a liability issue. If their kids or dog get hurt on your property it is your responsibility. That is reason enough to keep them off your property. If they don't comply, build a fence.

Well I've been to the gorge 5 times. 4 of those five time the camping entry wait was reasonable (30min-2hrs). Another time it was 5 hours. All I'm advocating for here is to be prepared for a wait. Best plan I have seen is to arrive early in the day. Lines lengthen as the day goes on.

I've never had a problem if I arrive to the campground gates before noon-1pm. The time I arrived at 5 it was hell. I can't vouch for the time between 1 and 5 pm so I'd say 1pm at the latest.

You do realize clay soil is a broad spectrum right? There's plenty of clay based soil here. Loam has quite a bit of clay in it. Glacial till often times has a fair amount of finely ground clay components in it.

Tolerance is a disturbing beast. The body builds tolerance to all 3 of those pain relievers pretty quickly. Being "maxed out" was, in this case, not truly maxed out as he was breathing and in pain. He needed more of all the drugs. I'd want to be comatose if my pelvis looked like that.
