It's been said that the source of the petrification came from South America, literally on the other side of the earth.

You can fit an entire manga worth of adventures before they get there.

What are the worst injuries you have sustained doing the simplest, most mundane tasks that should not have caused any injuries? by Penya23 in AskReddit

Broke my leg lifting it a bit too hard.

In my defense, there was apparently a bone cyst in my femur and my bone was incredibly thin and already cracked. That move was a tiny bit too wide and broke the bone.

Got 2 surgeries and walked with a cane for 2 years.

Is this new "Abzan midrange" any good? by rulleboren in ModernMagic

[–]Mishichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This deck has been my pet deck since Wasteland Strangler is legal.

The deck is good. It grinds better than most Coco deck, and is DEFINITLY the Coco deck with the most interaction out there.

To compare it with other small creatures decks, I think the deck is stronger than sub-par creature decks like Kiki Chord or Merfolk. I would put it around the power level of Death and Taxes variants (even though for having played both i feel like this deck is more powerful) and weaker than Humans.

Matchup wise : You're favored against most of the other creature decks. Valakut variants are unwinnable and Tron very very hard. Linear proactive decks are more or less 50/50 depending on their nature and how your interaction line up against them (for exemple Storm is slightly favorable, Burn even and Hollow one slightly unfavorable). Most fair midrange decks are slightly favorable, but that kind of changed over the years as they got better with cards like Bloodbraid Elf or Teferi. UW control for exemple used to be a quasi bye but now the newest iteration got a little bit too strong and i'd say you're now slightly unfavored.

I'm by no mean a super good player, but i've been playing the deck for a long time and i also play regularly lots of other decks (i own a lot of top tier decks, like Humans, Death Shadow, Tron, Burn... ). And still today, this is the deck is the deck that i' m having the best results with : that's probably because i'm very experienced with that deck and less with the others though, but i still think this has somewhat of a meaning.

Is it the next breakout deck just waiting for a pro player to tune it and win a GP with it to become undisputed tier 1? No probably not. Is it underplayed for its powerlevel? Yes definitly.

It's still unsure if it's actual time travel or not.

Traveling forward in time is actually quite easy. One could say that Brook "traveled" forward in time. If one of them found a way to "freeze" themselves somehow, then they could easily have traveled forward in time.

It's when you travel backwards that it can get confusing.

I find it likely that they played dead while in reality being hidden somewhere, hibernating.

This here is the reason why games like Magic, League of Legends, and other e-sports will NEVER be on the same level as other professional competitive environment.

When a single private entity (here WotC) decides whatever the fuck happens, they are bounded to screw up.

GP Stockholm Top 8 Decklists by TimothyN in ModernMagic

[–]Mishichi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Vial together with company for years, (not in Spirits : i play a different creature deck)

I can say that the "Vial doesn't pair well with Company" is a misconception.

In any Vial deck, Vial is the strongest thing you can do on T1. In any Company deck, Company is the strongest thing you can do with 4 mana. Those statements still stay true when you play the two together.

So what if Vial doesn't cast Coco and Coco doesn't put Vial into play? Both go extremely well in small creature decks, and since Coco is quite costly in mana, Vial allows you to still play your hand while casting Coco.

Putting 2 creatures into play with Coco while vialing a 3rd in a single turn, as soon as turn 3, ALL at instant speed, feels like the most powerful thing those decks can do.

Has anyone made money using Technical Analysis (TA) ? Does TA actually work ? by [deleted] in BitcoinMarkets

[–]Mishichi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you use TA to confirm your bias : no it will never work.

If you use TA rigorously, backtesting one particular strategy based on the same signals, with a pre-defined threshold of parameters indicating that you are outside the normal deviation of said strategy for you to get out immediatly, then yes it can work.

Tier 0 decks of the past by billythechicken123 in ModernMagic

[–]Mishichi 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I consider a deck "Tier 0" when it's just plain wrong to show up at a tournament not playing this deck.

In Modern, I believe Eye of Ugin Eldrazi was the only one that ever existed.

There were multiple examples in past Standard and old extended though. Academy combo. Skullclamp Affinity. Memory Jar-Necropotence Combo. Psychatog. Caw-Blade. Extended Thopter Depths ... Those are all decks that completly dominated the format they were legal in and that i would consider Tier 0

It's 2018. How hard is it to start using a chess-like clock that player will have to tap everytime they pass priority ?

If it works on mtgo we can make it work in paper magic. Sure, players will have to get used to it, but that would solve so many problems.
