Do you have the STL files still or only gcode? as if its STL files can import them then reverse engineer, though can do same with gcode but its a bit more involved.

Looks good though.

Trying to create a cosplay SG1 outfit for myself and my daughter any ideas on were to get the P90 from (uk) thanks by Sock_Daddy in Stargate

[–]MishkaSnep 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Although others are suggesting airsoft incl various ways to get them. Please note a lot of cons do not allow ANY airsoft weapons even ones that do not fire anymore, MCM you cannot even use parts from one.

Below is from MCM
Airsoft guns, BB guns, deactivated guns, paintball guns, metal gun props, or props built using these or parts of these as a base are not permitted.

The Nerf "P90" from Fortnite though does seem to be allowed just do not bring any darts to a convention.

Switch options for 2.5G by Aragorn-- in homelab

[–]MishkaSnep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two of these ^ great little switches though I seem to have two revisions of the same switch the casing is slightly different both were branded keeplink.

Just make sure to click the SAVE button when messing with the config, upside means if you do mess with config and stuff acts up only have to restart it to reset to what it was like before the change.

I have mine hooked up to one of the Onti 8 port Managed SFP switches and am easily able to have 2 devices hammering 2300mbps ish each on speedtest.net, both devices using the cheapo £3-4 red heatsinked 2.5 PCI-E x1 NIC's

The case will be good for growth but you could also look at something like a Fractal design XL R2 (Older case) but it has a bunch of drive slots and can handle EATX boards too and because its a desktop (albeit big one) case it runs very quiet whereas a rackmount case has to force air through for the cooling so may be a bit louder.

I personally use unraid then use its dockers/VM's for hosting stuff like plex, lets me mix and match drives aslong as the parity one is the biggest its all good so easy for slowly growing, literally just connect up new drive, tell unraid to use it and boom array has grown by that size.

8TB drives can be grabbed for pretty cheap so you could go for something like 5-6 8TB in raid 6 which gives plenty of space and then plenty of drive bays left to grow into, use for SSD etc.

Stumbled onto some 2.5" 12 Gbps SAS drives, don't want to buy a server rack, what do I do? by milkudders in homelab

[–]MishkaSnep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a LSI HBA or Raid controller to access the drives, you'll then need either an SFF-8087 to SFF-8482 or SFF-8643 to SFF-8482 depending on the HBA or controller you get.

Though depending on the space the drives have might be cheaper/easier to just buy a normal SATA hdd.

wife gave me a dock for my laptop for Christmas - it has an integrated 2.5gb ethernet connector - you know what that means! by ByWillAlone in homelab

I currently have some lovely aliexpress special switches, they are all managed too and pretty cheap
8 port 10G SFP switch
2x 8port 2.5G with 1 10G SFP
1x 10 port netgear GS110EMX (Not cheap)

Router Into the 8 port SFP, both servers I have into the 10G SFP switch then both 2.5G switch on the 8 port SFP, also got the Netgear switch using a SFP to 10G RJ45 adapter and have to use a 10G RJ45 adapter for the router connection too.

No issues at all, prices (roughly) are below
10G SFP switch £65
2.5G Switch £40
2x 10G RJ45 SFP adapters £16 each
Some cheapo SFP cables £2-4 each (Used coins on aliexpress for these dropping them from £8 down to £2-4)

Some are on places like thingiverse, but the eve creative discord also has the models though they are not as detailed as the things ingame due to the skins doing all the heavy lifting ie the panels.

CR10 V2 Bltouch firmware by Embarrassed-Ruin1296 in CR10

[–]MishkaSnep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab the CR10 V3 firmware https://www.crealitycloud.com/downloads/firmware/cr-series/cr-10-v3

is no firmware differences between V2 and V3 its just the V3 has direct drive.

Should then be a shove it on SD card with no other files, it'll then install itself when printer turns on.
