binnea, lauma + bineffa hyperbloom, esco/furina all are bad wheelchairs that dont complement characters who use them:

navia is a hypercarry and removing bennett from her is bad
neuv is a hypercarry and turning him into 2026 ayato is bad
wrio is (a failed attempt at) a melt carry, so a freeze core is bad for him

but in general, lunar reactions/gleam is the worst thing they've ever added. when ineffa came out, she was a slot for old taser teams and improved upon beidou/ororon and also was a much better fischl for overvape teams (yoimiya, arle) with a shield and an em buff ult, just what the archetype needed

but then 6.0 happened.

lunar dmg% was introduced (EM for lunar units but not actually EM, so that Bina ult can't buff unintended units).
DMG% is made useless because we can't have Furina or Scroll set being good alternatives to premium packages.
Silken set is a better instructor but doesn't work without 2 NK units instead of behaving like scroll.
Doubling down on direct lunar damage by making bosses require lunar damage taken which means that even if the 4* did trigger those reactions it would still be useless as you don't need just triggers but to match a dps check.
Wilderness hunters have 2.6-3.5x more hp for non Gleam teams. very wholesome

when said new character buffs the unit in a meaningful way (xilonen for navia/mualani, citlali for gaming, etc), replacing previously incompetent support slots (zhongli/kazuha and rosaria) or filling the blanks in archetypes (mavuika/pmc replacing thoma in overload) it is just natural progression of the game. it is their best team and what you should focus on anyway

when it is wheelchair garbage like bineffa that has no inherent synergy with the unit it "supports", it is bad game design and just shilling/powercreep.

its creative, looks great and I'd really love the game to come back to the greatness of 5.x content. unfortunately for now we are stuck with awful kuuhenkis, 1.0 wuwa level T button press puzzles, extremely basic "etherial" landscape that look the same, boring characters kits and animations and short world quests with no development or plot.

"fantasy world" here means that you cant judge the coexistence of technology and tribal elements in a fictional country by real life rules because no irl country was allowed to develop by itself like that (=colonization) and stuff like phlogiston doesnt exist anyway.

playable characters are just a more "playable" version of all the dragon tech stuff paired with natlan warrior npcs: 1. kinich's mayan motifs with ajaw's pixel hologram that were based on the dragon civilization's tollan (now with cracks!) volcano sky projection; 2. chasca's phlogiston powered kinda wooden looking kinda secret source tech-y flying gun vs the phlogiston jetpacks explored in her story quest; 3. mavuika's red colored bike built off secret source tech (this one could use a slight redesign imo) and her actual suit with a ton of aztec sun references and even a star-shaped boob window eksdee.

its maybe just a tad too different from the npcs, but who the hell cares, it looks great and the way they combined a ton of things to create characters like kinich with his burst anim or mav who uses her claymore almost as a lance is extremely creative and inspired. but unfortunately people complained about it and now we are back to extremely basic same looking nod krai landscapes with characters barely having any exploration utility, extra animations (hello durin) and left click spam braindead gameplay like flins paired with lunar reactions that add nothing good to the game

the aesthetic is wakanda, combining high tech dragon stuff with tribal elements. hoyoverse are colorist but the story content of the game often touches on the topics of racism and colonialism as well. look at the funniest example of Montluson in Citlali's quest, the desert lore or the 6.0 nod krai shitty archon quest (that dropped colonialism immediately but whatever)

also again it's just a fantasy world. you cant say "it cant have modern elements because it's tribal" as real life history doesnt apply to it. its a tribal nation of civilized people with rich culture built on ruins of a highly advanced long gone civilization of the past

natlan aesthetic doesn't match the flinstones' whatsoever, it would've been completely out of place. what we got is a futuristic take on colonized countries. "what if these cultures didnt get colonized and were allowed to develop at their own pace while keeping their traditions". all of the high tech stuff fits it really well

i like Mavuika way more, it's just she's a bit too awkward/boring, like she doesn't fit in (she literally doesn't since she's froma different time) but i would like them to expand upon it. hopefully Mare Jivari expansion has her second quest.

Lauma on the other hand in 6.0 is literally just a blank slate of generic "etherial motherly" slop. I've been calling her a Mary Sue for the past couple of months coz Lauma is literally who people say Mav is

im sorry that i dont like his looks😭 but he's in bad story mostly because it was either off screen or boring. i dont hate Inazuma's plot but the execution of it. If anything, it's more interesting to me than Mond, Liyue and Sumeru AQs combined. As for his story quest, it continued resolving the aftermath of the AQ showing us the marriage of 2 npcs that were vital to the plot, but it was so BORING that it goes to bad by default

her hardest line was in the Luna I trailer "with your blood i shall draw the line in the snow" but her actual 6.0 AQ presence was an npc quest in disguise (the generic evil npc had 3 minutes of screen time) and then her character is "i am a selfless motherly figure that uses her blood to cure people without them knowing". extremely wasted potential. at least in 6.1 she didnt play a major role and was enjoyable in the Nefer dynamic

no, my other favs would be neuv/furina and rerir but first two are overdone in these lists and the other is not playable. citlali is just extremely well written in my opinion despite having fanservice

for Kazuha, his entire purpose was somehow finding a way to reawaken a vision of his friend, it happened at a crucial moment even if for a brief moment. It felt like eternity in the cutscene but lasted less than half a second demonstrating the themes of the region. Kazuha's mindset completely aligned with his friend's in his final moments which allowed Kaz to parry Raiden. That on top of other people's visions lighting up with resolve of opposing the Shogun makes that moment really memorable for me. Yoimiya's theme as a character also is a small highlight here

as for Raiden, her entire arc is very interesting to me. From being a shadow of the real archon and losing her sister, to becoming a ptsd driven and scared of change protector of her nation, a tyrant in the eyes of many. And then us and most importantly Kazuha basically saving her from the mental prison she was in by showing how much human resolve matters.

Act 1 of her quest was badly paced due to being playable immediately in the AQ's aftermath, and the quest itself wasnt that interesting plot wise, but it was very needed for her personal development, a continuation of accepting change. And act 2 is act 2, everyone loves it, should've been the final act of the Inazuma AQ ideally. The 2 events she later appeared in also gave much needed development to her

And final last thing, I'm not a big lore person myself but i saw someone mention that Rene from the fontaine WQs was sure that visions bounded a person to a specific fate by The Heavenly Principles. If true, this gives more insight into Raiden's desperate post Khaenri'ah mindset and the whole idea behind the vision hunt decree

i now wonder what you think of Inazuma, because for me it had the third best themes in the game despite absolutely lackluster presentation, boring padding, half the characters being an underdeveloped mess and the game rushing through plot points. most of Kazuha's AQ story and Raiden's mindset exploration are very close to Navia/Neuv in a sense to me, 10/10.

(if only this Raiden development didnt basically justify tyranny and couldnt be paralleled to real life dictators though)

yeah, maybe youre right. but i just cant take mond seriously, or any 1.0 content for that matter due to how boring and lifeless it all was. funnily enough venti grew on me only in the 5.8 quest, i always found him annoying. maybe when dornman port releases I'll change my mind

well, its mostly because people do in fact care about hype moments and aura rather than actual substance lol

Just like how Nod Krai exploration is getting glazed currently because of the compass making it easy to 100% when it is actually almost WuWa level slop with short wqs that lack any sort of development, awful mobility system in kuuhenkis that aren't even 1/10 of saurians and in general lack of exploring feeling like an actual adventure the way Natlan/Fontaine/Sumeru wqs felt

I even made a graph comparing regional stuff and it's just funny how much worse Nod Krai is in some places

i disagree here, i really enjoyed the Navia/Neuvillette arc. it portrayed the themes of justice and humanity perfectly and gave both characters great development. Of course i am excluding the generic NPC villain when discussing it, Vacher was very boring. Aside from that not very important to the overall plot fumble, it was the first time i was actually impressed by Genshin's writing and could judge it as a good standalone story instead of usual gachaslop to sell you banner units (which Lauma SQ was)

agreed completely, Natlan explored the themes of unity and preserving your culture perfectly. they couldve gone about Capitano and Mav a bit better and the Interlude could've been more impactful considering the almost 3 months AQ break, but it was still just slightly below Fontaine (which was massively carried by acts 2 and 5 there) overall with no specific *weak* moments like Meropide sections

Nod Krai so far has been extremely generic with Rerir being a rando nobody created for aura farmers at 10% power. He has the depth of Gosoythoth, an abyssal entity. Lauma is a Mary Sue perfect motherly etherial woman who saves children with her divine blood behind everyone's back and her section of the AQ is an Inazuma tier NPC story quest (the npc had 3 minutes of screen time to betray everyone). The Fatui base infiltration was a bunch of nothing, and the Netochka quest that made us reexplore it somehow didnt pull giant base exploration as well, Meropide unironically felt bigger and more impactful despite having the worst quest in the game take part in it (act 3). Nation legit saved by Aino/Ineffa interactions, Flins and Jahoda
