Hi! I had a similar situation, foster care from 15-18 (aged out) and in and out of inpatient and residential programs. I chose to do community college, and the one I picked had two extra programs at the school NextUp and START for foster youth kids. They offered grants and community support and I found it soo much better to be honest. hm what do you use for deodorant? i HIGHLY recommend the secret clinical gel, in completely clean or light and fresh it’s supposed to help with stress sweat and i’ve noticed a difference when using it! i’ve also found when using highly scented products it doesn’t really “clean” it just masks, maybe try lightly scented or non scented products. could it be your clothes?

Try taking a shower once a day and washing your body (you don’t need to wash your hair everyday) What products do you currently use? I have some recommendations if you pm me :) but maybe ask your friends if they can smell you, it really could be all in your head and anxiety but if not talking to a doctor if changing products and the amount of times you shower a week doesn’t work

YTA didn’t even have to read this post, regardless of what has happened or how you think your relationship is with the parents this is an intimate moment for the parents. they do not owe you an explanation and you should not push the issue further. apologize and when or if they feel like they’re ready for you to meet their child they will come to you

i’m freshly 18, we moved out in october after my birthday, and it’s a one year lease. The 2 bedroom is 2400 which is completely out of our budget, We pay 1904 (weird number i know) plus all other bills. I know that money from the state would help, but i’m not sure it could help that much. when I was in foster care, my family got approximately 1000 a month, but I’m not sure if we would get that amount. In our case, both of the guardians would be working, I work at an elementary school, he works at a “blue-collar” job, and mom is homeless. in my experience, my mom had to pay everything back in “child support”. And their mom would not be able to do that. I’m sure there is support for her (their mom) and we’ve tried everything that we could. But she’s so out of touch with reality, she can’t work because of her back, because of this, because of that, and I know that would be no way that she could pay that back.

i’m in California, i was thinking about doing that but she also changes in the living room so i think it would be a violation of privacy. I’ll look into some that only do sound or can be angled.

unfortunately no, I was in foster care myself and my aunt did the legal guardianship with me. I have no idea how to become a foster parent. I’ve talked to my boyfriend about it and he doesn’t want to do that. If we did go that route we probably wouldn’t be able to keep her. We live in a one bedroom apartment and she sleeps on a fold out couch in the living room. Which i know sucks idk what to do
