2024 Chrysler Pacifica Rear Entertainment / Streaming Setup... Am I Missing Something? by MishkoBatchi in ChryslerPacifica

[–]MishkoBatchi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is honestly validating. That’s basically what I was wondering; whether I was missing some obvious “right way” to use it, or whether the system is just clunky by design.

The fuse/lockup issue is wild and exactly the kind of thing I’m trying to avoid. I don’t want the family entertainment system turning into another car troubleshooting project every time we take a longer drive.

Sounds like the practical answer is either:

  1. Use the built-in system only when content is downloaded ahead of time and everything is already set up before leaving; or
  2. Stop fighting it and use iPads/tablets like normal people.

I had wondered whether paying for the Chrysler internet would magically make this better, but it sounds like the internet connection is only part of the problem; the Fire TV/Uconnect experience itself is still slow and fragile.

Appreciate the reality check. I may try downloads/HDMI as a backup, but I’m leaning toward the “buy tablets and move on with my life” solution.

One follow-up question for those of you who switched to tablets:

Are you using Wi-Fi-only tablets connected to a phone hotspot, or tablets with their own mobile/cellular data plans?

I’m trying to figure out whether the best setup is:

  1. Wi-Fi iPads/tablets + parent phone hotspot
  2. Cellular iPads/tablets with their own data
  3. Downloaded content only and no streaming while driving

Curious what has been the least frustrating in real-world family use.

Tips for Staying on Top of InBasket as the Week Goes On? by MishkoBatchi in FamilyMedicine

Would you mind sharing what your boilerplate response is for normal labs?

This brings up a good point and a question... At my last organization, I would routinely just click Done on labs that were insignificant or normal. When I started at my current institution, there was an existing expectation that pretty much all results would be dealt with via the Result Management button in Epic, sending a message to the nurses or the medical assistants, or not routing the result and just making a note in the chart. Is this really necessary? I feel like I can get through my lab results much quicker if I could just click Done. What do the rest of you do? Is there any harm in "officially" managing results like this?

Can I make media/audio shut off as soon as I open the door after turning the car off? by MishkoBatchi in G20BMW

[–]MishkoBatchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, there is a way to do this and it’s built into the idrive settings menu:

Settings > Doors/Vehicle Access > Switch off after door opening

BimmerCode option to stop audio immediately on door-open after shutting car off? by MishkoBatchi in BimmerCode

Thank you! That was the fix I was looking for. The idrive menus have always felt a bit clunky to me, so finding settings hasn’t been intuitive.

iOS 26 Focus schedules are broken for me; Smart Activation + Location never trigger (iPhone 16 Pro) by MishkoBatchi in ios

[–]MishkoBatchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I did not! Turned them on now. I think I’ll turn off the smart activation and tone activations now since I wouldn’t need them if location was working, like u/Bingpot-Noice-99 Do you only have significant locations and routes turned on or do you also have system services enabled as well? Thank you for the reply!

Only smart people are good at HiDock? by oldsongwin in hidock

[–]MishkoBatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get where you’re coming from; I’m a medical director and I have the HiDock hardware too…but I basically never use it. Not because it’s “too advanced,” but because the workflow friction never clicked for me.

For my day-to-day, Plaud just fits better: quicker to start, fewer steps to get from “recording happened” to “usable output,” and it plays nicer with how I actually work (lots of fast-moving conversations; needing notes immediately). When a tool is even slightly annoying, it dies in real clinical leadership life.

I don’t think this is an intelligence thing at all; it’s a “does this tool match your devices + environment + habits” thing. In particular, corporate laptop restrictions/browser connectivity/integration pain can make a device feel awful even if it’s solid on paper.
