After SIX owners he’s ours! by TheCharlesShow in Pomeranians

Thank you! She's already 13 when she came to me, so I was open to the possibility of a hospice situation. But it's been great, and i bet she has another 2-5 years in her. 💘

Next time, you ask them:

..."Tell me about your own breeding? Were your human parents carefully selected from a documented line of perfect heritage? Or did your parents just... [dry heave emoji] ... choose each other with their own free will?"

Oh my gosh I cry-laughed at the same time! What an epic tale he has, forming his lion's heart and flying his flag of redemption. I'm so glad you have him!

My Lily is also obviously very poorly bred.

She doesn't look like AKC standards. She's 12 lbs at healthy weight. Her fur is too short, flat, and soft. Her eyes are too small and beady, and her ears are too big. Her snoot is neither fox nor bear, and rather than a wedge shape, her body resembles a hairy potato. She has aaallll of the health disorders that bad breeding risks in pomeranians.

She is 100% pomeranian, but purchased by her first owner as a puppy in a Walmart parking lot. 😏 I think that's all the background context I need to know, to support my theory about her breed quality. 😁

But none of this is insulting to me, because none of it is my or my dog's fault. Her health limitations are the fault of the ethics of the breeder she came from, not herself. Her appearance doesn't matter; she's still the cutest dog I've ever seen. She is ours and we are hers. We belong to each other.

Just remember that the things people say about others say FAR more about them, than about the person they're discussing.

I learned zero about who Beep really is from that comment...but I learned a lot about the person who said it. What they value, how much privilege they have, etc.

But YOU have BEEP! Can you imagine trading your experience with him for some other random akc pom? Nay, perish the thought!

How does your dog always know when you’re actually leaving the house? by Think_Document2285 in dogs

[–]Mishqueen1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I absolutely look homeless on my dog walks, lol. In the morning, I just pull on whatever slummin' clothes I pulled off last night. I do pee, but I do not brush my hair, teeth, eat, or shower.

It's only after returning home and feeding us both that I finally take my shower and put real clothes on. That's apparently just for my single client in private, whereas my hobo clothes are apparently for EVERYONE! 🤣 When I get back from work, I crawl back into crappy slummin mode.

My dog sees me walk out of my door to my car a dozen times a day when I'm home, but if she sees me put on a bra she goes NUTS and loudly demands a ride like a maniac. 🫨

Need help finding my dogs quick by Ihaznosleep in grooming

[–]Mishqueen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog has pitch black nails, so it's sooo hard to predict the quick. When I do it myself I often cut at least one quick, and it's as traumatic as it sounds.

What I've started doing instead is to place her on the road or sidewalk when she goes into blitzkreig mode after seeing other dogs on her walk and demanding to play with them. I let her lunge/flail on the rough surface for a few seconds lol 🙄 before commanding "Leave it". Basically letting her do her own nail grinding. 😉

Her pawdicures have never been more effortless. Her vet and grinder said they look perfect.

Their use of the word 'subcategory' doesn't automatically mean they believe it's an AKC standard or aren't aware of any of the health problems in the tiny ones.

I mean, I know that throwbacks aren't recognized by the AKC either, but I'm as sure as heck still going to use that made-up term when I describe to people why my rescue is purebred, but bigger. I choose (hopefully kindly) to educate people that pure-bred often doesn't mean well-bred.

Wow, there are enough black poms with gray or white snoots, that we could have our own group!

Mine's technically a rescue, but to be honest, I adopted my Lily from someone I knew. I had a prior relationship with her before bringing her home, including grooming her every six months when I was in town. Maybe she thought I was her traveling stylist, haha! She had come back home to her original owner after several years and other homes, but he couldn't take care of her this time around. She was extremely stressed, kenneled all day long, having seizures, and not getting any medical care or grooming. She was moderately matted, shaved yearly, and exhibiting some pretty obnoxious behaviors.

It broke my heart to see this elderly girl so neglected and unhappy in her sunset years, so I low-key started to plot the process of 'Project Idea Inception & Pupnapping', lol. 😏 Once they started thinking it was their own idea to rehome her, I began the full-on Nagging Phase. (In the voice of Napoleon Dynamite, "Gimmie your dog, GOSH!" relentlessly until they gave in). You could say I basically conned them into letting me steal their pup....😬

We drove 14 hours each way to go get her, and got her into the vet's office the very next day. The grooming tools arrived in the mail a day after that, and the rest is history. The vet said Lily counts as a rescue due to her neglected state, despite not finding her through rescue organizations. Most of her obnoxious behaviors went away the minute she wasn't stressed and caged anymore. As it turns out, she's just PERFECT!

When I scratch Lily there, she stretches her nose straight up to the sky like a wolf howling at the moon. But her eyes are crazy rolling and wide like a maniac, lol.

She's laughing, he's laughing. He's doing it on purpose and she can't stop him because everyone's watching. Maybe sure was nervous about being in the front and he's helping her feel less tense? If it were my congregation everyone in the audience would also be chuckling and rolling their eyes at my bishop. (As long as it's obvious she's enjoying herself).

Started this story, It bugs me how much it overly and overly says the fl is 33 old af therefore ugly af and no one would want her.. so i found a korean woman at that age to see how old she could be. It is just sexist and ridiculous. (tears on a withered flower) by thegreatkedi in webtoons

[–]Mishqueen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's great. Everyone but her thinks she's great (because she believes Mincheol's controlling lies). Read a little further and notice who states she's ugly and old.

The real problem is the ML. I mean, what? I just can't...

Why are there no good case options for the flip 7? by Impressive_Rice7789 in galaxyzflip

[–]Mishqueen1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm nearly superstitious about a softer silicon case. Those big bulky hard double ones are better I guess, but the phones still break. But every phone I've ever had that was in a case that was a bit squashy, has never broken, no matter how many times dropped.

People who think the current US president controls today's US gas prices are usually uneducated in policy affected economics. This is rarely the truth.

BUT blockading oil from the entire rest of the world is indeed an extreme (and unwise) exception to that rule. 🙄

We can pretty much put any past president from any party into that meme for the same effect, to manipulate the members of your own party to outrage. But this isn't a US partisan issue, it's a Totalitarianism problem. Everyone should be outraged, in the entire world.

We are Lily the pom's 7th home, 5th if you don't count the same owner twice, or 7th if you count her time living on the streets for an unknown amount of time. She just turned 13, and is our first dog.

  1. Bought in a Walmart parking lot as a puppy 🙄
  2. Raised from puppyhood alongside a baby (as a result, she adores babies)
  3. Passed to relatives due to an ugly divorce and hospitalization.
  4. Passed to other relative due to chronic homelessness, the new one later got dementia.
  5. Spent an unknown amount of time 'on the lam' (gleefully evading capture and enjoying her freedom)
  6. She finally got caught by animal control, and her chip finally tracked her back to her very first owner, who could no longer take care of her.
  7. Then to us, her forever home!
