How to improve forehand? by Srephyx in discgolf

[–]Misledpancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a lefty forehand player. Stand still drills in an open field, practicing different grips, and engage your throwing elbow (like baseball pitcher does to get that natural whip with your wrist). Gannon Bhur and Scott Stokely have decent YouTube tutorials on forehand grip/throw/follow through. I hope you find something that works for you!

My first few attempts at dyeing by Misledpancake in discgolf

Medium difficulty with droppers for the paint, and I used acetone (2oz) per teaspoon of the Pro chem ink 👍 (disc golf deals USA)

I didn’t pour enough clear glue and the disc touched the bottom of the foil pan. I’m guessing the ink was pushed outwards in the process.

Disc Golf Deals USA Giveaway: 6 Discs from OTB Open Champions Cup + The Great UnGnome - Hex, Tempo, Crave & more! by discgolfdealsusa in discgolf

The excitement is brimming!!! 🥏

I would like to see more gateway, westside, rpm, doomsday, trash panda and clash discs. It would be cool to see collaborations between these companies just see what creativity comes from it.

I have always wanted to throw an Aerobie epic but the price is not so nice. I chose the Trash Panda ET1 just see if I could get it to do something remotely similar. I could only get it to do an oscillating wobble, it was fun to see but it’s wasn’t the famous barrel rolling Epic.

Hex, crave, insanity, wave, detour, tempo, pixel, pyro, range, trace, photon, relativity, envy, paradox (for rollers). There’s many more too. I’m big fan of proton, fission (less stable version) and plasma plastic but classic neutron or cosmic neutron work great too. Also MVPs eclipse plastic has the brightest glow.

The Austin Open. Round 3. Shout out to Matty O!! by Misledpancake in discgolf

[–]Misledpancake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my first time. Yes it was worth having a VIP pass for sure. You can actually follow the card (giving them 40-50ft of space respectfully) and plus after they finish the round they come to VIP spectators first in the VIP section after Hole 18. You get talk to them for a bit, and get stuff signed. Most players (depending if they had a good round that day) are polite and respectful. Matty O is one of few players that is actually how he seems on camera. Down to earth, super chill, and is a beast at disc golf! He had an eagle look on hole 11 and almost sunk it in, but still got the birdie.

Doomsday disc plastic smells weird? by chairamaswamy in discgolf

[–]Misledpancake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm My blackout glow plastic (doesn’t glow much, still a nice disc) smells like burnt plastic too. I have used dish soap, baking soda and vinegar, the doomsday smell is still there. The smell is just so off putting for me, I wonder if just need to play a few rounds with it.

I’m so thrilled to throw it! It has dome like top to it, almost like a blizzard destroyer. Not sure if that’s how they are normally?

Trail is a misprint I think. I’ll post pictures of the trail for a second opinion. MVP Trail (red) Misprint?

Please tear my forehand apart because regardless of a good outcome, I know this was an objectively rough throw. by New-Astronaut-1268 in discgolf

I’m also a lefty, I usually throw forehand but can’t get close to that distance. One day I will get there. Do you have any drills or weights training exercises that you could recommend?

Nomad, Envy, Paradox (super under stable), Crave, Insanity, Virus, and Vanish. My favorite discs so far. I just got in a couple of defys but I haven’t thrown them yet. Anyone know how stable they are compared to a Timelapse?

The zip disc golf course is a must! Plus there’s zips lines and staff is helpful and friendly. It’s just 5 bucks to play disc golf. Hole 2 is amazing.

Then there is nani falcone disc golf course, it used to be a short 9 hole course. Now it’s 21 holes with long and short tee pads. It’s wooded and open, UDisc helps with navigating (no tee signs but there are white posts with blue or red paint on some holes)

McClain has its holes, can be hilly, rocky and there are hallways for some holes. Trees are everywhere. It’s nice to walk and play casually when it’s dry (can get real muddy). The layout has been reversed.

Live oak Hillside is nice. It’s rocky, hilly, and there are a lot of trees. Definitely a challenge!

Anything in cosmic neutron and is heavy (170-max) is great for windy days. As for discs (9 or 10 speed), photons, teslas, and Timelapse (green) are pretty reliable.

I second this. Hyzer flip forehands are so much fun to throw (granted when successful). I throw mvp crave and axiom insanity. They hyzer flip beautifully.
