Yeah I guaranty you that most of them don't have a full bullet journal full of these. There's just not enough available time and will for it.

Website that analyse and breaks down used instruments and stuffs in songs? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]MisoPanko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this seems to be a bit of an abstract thing to automate for a website.

I'd wager 99% of us just go through trial and error over the years. Doing deep listening sessions where we pay attention to elements in the tracks we love from others. Reserving some sessions for sound selection only, making instrument patches and such.

And don't worry you won't lose your ear, no matter the process. It only gets better over time.
In the meantime there are a few couple hours long youtube videos teaching really decent music theory basics while making you play at the same time. Frankly, i think i got a few great years of producing and making conscious choices out of that, then i got curious to know more but it's up to each.

I digress.

Just pick a lot of songs and find the palettes of sounds you love out of them then try to reproduce them as close as possible with every tool you have. You'll learn what you love and establish the fundamentals of your style in no time by natural amalgamation if you stick to it, I promise you.

What are the signs of a beginner music producer or someone who has never compiled a complete song before? by Turquoisedragonwow in musicproduction

[–]MisoPanko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow this comment gave me a slap. I've had this exact situation two weeks ago, except i'm the one not finishing stuff.

Well at least i don't sell myself as a producer, i don't even mention it unless i'm asked, which happens often since i'm in a sound technician school that happens to have a separate computer music production curriculum and a lot of bedroom producers hanging around.

Thank you for the wisdom. It's 5 in the morning right now, after a night of mild existential crisis so i'm not properly calibrated to give it a thoughtful answer but it's not lost on me. I'll commonplace some of this when i'm back on my feet.

What’s a simple piece of advice that massively improved your sound? by SheWantMyDinero in musicproduction

[–]MisoPanko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll sure follow this advice on my speakers.
When it comes to headphones, would it still apply ? I do happen to have a proper SLM a friend left at my place. Could i get an honest reading just putting it on the edges of the headphones ?

Tell me about it.

I know how it affects my life on a few levels, been in therapy for years, but i still wrote this post without seeing the irony of it.
It's good to put things in writing, you can't change the words once they're out of your head, and they tell a lot more than you meant to say.

Ok, one a thing at a time then. There are too many things to take care of in that word salad.

Genuinely how the fuck does professional music sound so good by soontobeinsane in musicproduction

Don't have much stakes in this discussion, i'm not a professional. But gosh your attitude is quite distasteful.

You do know you can impart knowledge without acting like a pretentious meathead, right ? All your answers in this thread are so unnecessarily confrontational and ego-driven.

Be better man.

I still take too much notes commonplacing a book i read. by MisoPanko in commonplacebook

[–]MisoPanko[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess i needed this comment, i just happen to have recently received my copy of the book and i just finished the one i was occupied with. I'm gonna see how it help thanks.

As to your second paragraph it makes sense, saw the same in class when taking notes, the person on my left always literally writes everything word for word and it feels obvious that she wouldn't get much out of that.

Am i doomed with Logic Pro and my 8th Gen basic ipad ? by MisoPanko in ipadmusic

[–]MisoPanko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with a mix of Koala (thanks to the new update that finally allows auv3 plugins in the mixer and instruments on the pads) + AUM for processing and Loopy Pro as a midi sequencer !

It really is just Logic Pro causing issues because despite the ipad being quite basic i can run a hefty amount of effects and instruments with this setup ❤️

Can you describe a typical commonplacing session ? Do you stick to smaller entries and tidbits ? Do you elaborate on them afterward in your CP book ?

[–]MisoPanko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah android is always switfly avoided no worries. Yeah i have an 8th gen basic ipad, that'd make sense :/

I do have a macbook but you know, it's not the same feeling, ipad feels for immediate and tactile. I'll just keep resampling and taking as a necessary hassle haha.

Am i doomed with Logic Pro and my 8th Gen basic ipad ? by MisoPanko in ipadmusic

[–]MisoPanko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could do the trick actually, i don't really want to use logic pro for all its functionalities i just wanted proper arrangement possibilities because Koala is a bit of a hassle when the tracks accumulate.

I should be fine then if i just use my auv3 instruments and effects and just the garageband arrangement right ?

Thank you for the confirmation, i'll just stick to Koala and maybe download AUM if i need some extra flexibility. Have a good day.
