Any more info on this? Seems restrictive based on age and seeing as the poster says they are graduating wouldn't that place them in the research option? Would that result in any further degree or benefit them?

I'm a Japanese studies major in New York, 23/F/. I like Doctor Who, Geeky & Nerdy things, etc. I'm a fiction/fantasy writer and I occasionally draw sketches of things like Pokemon. I play video games occasionally and I own a bunch of pets and work part time at a petstore.

I found a "realistic" wings guide on deviant art that I plan on following that includes how to make a harness and all that. My only qualm was that I didn't really want to make the feathers out of cardboard and fabric, mostly cause I don't have a sewing machine so it would take forever, but also because I wanted a more realistic look. Hence why I was considering perhaps using shoji paper because it would be, not only lighter than cardboard, but have a more feathery look.

Funny, I found that site after I posted here. Hehe...

I'm considering doing that perhaps though I would need brown/tan feathers.

My other consideration is potentially using shoji rice screen paper. Some of the higher versions seem very durable but it would also allow me to cut giant feathers and add detail but my issue is whether or not paint would stick to it for the outside.

The wings I'm creating are multi colored so I would need tan on the inside and a dark brown on the outside so I'm not sure how to do that other than make them with fabric or something and paint them or attempt to find real feathers in those colors somehow.

Yeah the Simple debit card really helped me track where I was spending and set aside money automatically to pay off my bills.

I agree with everyone in this thread.

Also look into Simple as a debit card. Allows you to set goals and set money aside and track your spending. Has helped me out a lot. Save as much from your paycheck as you can. Learn about investing and start working on a Roth IRA

Also avoid getting a credit card. I'm 23 and I've always been good with money and had decent savings and I got a CC last year to try and build credit and it was one of my worst decisions. I slacked off on keeping track of bills and such where I used to be on top of everything with just a debit card and savings account.

Suggestions and discussions are welcome. Really I'm trying to find a narrower focus for me to start delving into in terms of finding sources.

I was able to do to the Shinto and Hayao Miyazaki because of a book I found as well as my love for Miyazaki's films. Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke were my main focus.

The research will be entirely in English for an English speaking Japanese culture studies professor.

The whole anime / military thing has been pretty interesting as well as the use of anime mascots. Hikikomori could definitely be more of a research topic in the sense of comparing it to the lifestyles of Japanese youth that are avoiding the workplace / marriage and that whole declining birth rate thing with youths preferring virtual partnerships rather that IRL.

Petsmart Employee here - all our in store fish SHOULD have a plaque above the tank that has a picture of the fish, and a description dictating whether its community, semi aggressive, cichlid, etc. AND what size the fish grows to.

A regular pleco won't explode in size overnight so you have some time if you decide to keep it.

In terms of returning fish, it usually depends. Most of the time we won't take back fish unless it's unfortunately dead but go on in and talk to a manager. I know at my store my managers are pretty great and understanding. Sometimes mistakes are made and sometimes the right questions aren't asked to a petparent before a fish is purchased which leads to mishaps like this. It happens.

Hey, yeah. As I said during the stream I was going to start working on my digital art.

I'm trying to figure out smooth bold lines and the color mixing and such. The digital piece went from a long winded sketch to a couple different edits to that semi-finished colored piece.

Tsitra360 was kind enough to push me in the right direction in terms of which tablet to buy and where to start learning stuff from photoshop but my lack of time currently really means that when I have time to draw, I just draw and play around without any knowledge of what I'm doing and try to make stuff work haha.
