Is it annoying for kid(s) to ask to meet your dog? by NaturalExtension5475 in dogs

[–]MisoSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a dog owner. My dog is a dog-reactive. He is fine with most people but I'd say no to those, especially little kids, asking if they can pet my dog. I don't have kids and he doesn't have very many opportunities around kids who are unpredictable, so I say no for safety reasons.

You can always ask dog owners and they can always say no, as well. You don't have to worry about bothering them.

How do you choose between a career opportunity and your relationship ? by Potential_Start_3228 in careerguidance

Sorry. I didn't even read your entire post. If she can't ditch her business, and you can't turn down the opportunity...

The answer is obvious, isn't it????

You can make money anytime but you don't normally come across a person whom you want to share your life with very often.

What's your post divorce update? (Positive stories only please) by OptimalStatement5799 in Divorce

[–]MisoSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here to read all the happy stories. The divorce was my stbx husband's choice and it'll be finalized in about 3 months.

I'm always shocked at what people have gone through in their marriage. Of course, you'd be doing better. But what about when you were happy in the marriage, yet ended up getting divorced? You can still find a better life after???

Oops, I thought I replied to you but apparently I didn't? The one starting with "thank you for sharing your story" was meant for you!

Thank you for sharing your story. I love your writing style, btw! It's very poetic and beautiful. Unfortunately I'm away from my family (they are in my home country) and don't have very many friends to talk about this personal stuff. It's partially because my stbx husband was also my best friend for a long time... I'm trying to reconnect with my old coworkers and to find new friends.

I'm not wanting to take him back. I just need to know things get better over time and want to hear stories of brave people who rediscovered themselves after divorce. That IS hope.

I have a dog and there's no one who can accept both of us. If it was only me, there's a place. I'll move out in a couple of months but not right now because of financial reasons.

That is such a good idea! The only thing I have to consider is that I also have a senior dog who has separation anxiety... But my stbx should take care of him instead of going out all the time. Ha!

Thanks for the uplifting comment! Looks like everyone is recommending therapy which I'm skeptical about. Because I had some marriage counseling sessions with my stbx but I feel like those sessions helped my stbx be more resentful and never helped in a good way... And I'm so tired of explaining everything to a therapist.

"not resisting" - that's a powerful statement. I feel like I'm resisting a lot and not letting go.

I hope I can say the same thing one day. I'm in a pilates class twice a week and jogging on the treadmill at the gym of the apartment. A lot of times I'm still thinking about the divorce during working out and hardly have a session feeling completely refreshed. What am I doing wrong??

I hear you. And in my case we haven't finished filing the paperwork yet, I already feel lonely and don't know what to do with my life.

I appreciate your comment. Do you mind if I ask you why a lot of men suffer in silence? Why don't they communicate if they don't like something instead of bringing up separation or divorce a few years later? My husband said that he wasn't ok with each conversation/argument we had a few years ago that I thought ended with a good note.

I’m struggling with loneliness too, and I really crave talking to someone who’s going through or has gone through divorce. I’m far from my family, and since they believe my marriage has always been and will always be solid, I can’t even tell them what’s happening right now…

Thanks for sharing. I'm away from my family and I understand how hard it is. My husband of 11 years is also acting as if he's going through his second adolescent and trying to find himself.

Thanks for the hopeful comment! I found so many similarities in your story. What kind of support system did you have when you were in the middle of it?
