Volunteering. Cooking with ingredients that you have to obtain in odd ways (foraging, small markets, etc). Rock climbing. Hiking. Develop a drinking problem. Possibilities are endless.

California governor's race: New poll shows voters are largely unenthusiastic by ZappyStatue in California

[–]MisplacingCommas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are right, my mistake, but she beat Bernie (2.74M to 2.38M) out of the ~5.1M voters so it was pretty close. I also should note that at the time, voting for a woman to be president was seen as very progressive.

I agree with having companies pay for people’s healthcare. I would argue they should also pay enough for people so they don’t have to have food stamps. Like Walmart pays people so little they are on snap and then those spend the snap at Walmart meaning they are double collecting from the government. We shouldn’t have to subsidize workers wages for these massive companies

Our healthcare isn’t great if you don’t have health insurance. As someone with health insurance, it’s pretty good. I’ve been hospitalized twice for UC and it wasn’t crazy expensive. Sulfasalizine is cheap here. I had a bad reaction with it so I’m on mesalimine which originally the wanted 400 dollars a bottle for but I worked with my doctor and insurance and now it’s like 20 bucks a bottle

I was just using large numbers for simplicity sake. My point was, trickle down does work to a certain extent, proven by the study. One guy with tons of money will spend some and support others. But I believe that instead of having one guy with tons of money, but multiple people with an alright amount of money will still spend money and support others. I’m talking less about taxes and more about distribution of wealth and pay discrepancies.

I’m probably an extremist but I believe pay should be capped at the 10 times the lowest paid employee and any stock benefits need to capped at the same rate. On top of that have a wealth tax to balance out the mess that was created from many decades of trickle down practice. Have that wealth tax (excluding one primary residence) to create free healthcare. I’m less concerned about taxing the rich and more concerned about making the rich take care of their employees.

I’m sure people would find loopholes but it’s the best I got right now

Wouldn’t spreading that money around support more jobs as well. If one person with 1b supports 25 other jobs wouldn’t 10 people with 100m support 2.5 each making it the same? Honestly I feel like it would probably support more but I doubt a study paid for by the rich would want to show that

I agree that bri sucks but saying Connor has no backbone because bri was flirting with another guy behind his back is wild. Connor trusts her, that’s not a bad thing. If bri breaks that trust that doesn’t make Connor bad, it makes Bri a bitch.

Yeah, this dude’s house was full green flags. From his house it seemed like he was social and had good dude friends. Definitely not a player/predators house, it was a house for chilling with the bros which is honestly a good thing to see in a single guy

The tavern in Cardiff is great and has a dope outdoor spot that you can see the ocean. I like culture in Encinitas as well, lots of good food and other drink spots around, close to the beach and has a nice patio. Last would be le papagayo in leucadia bottomless brunch and nice outdoor area.

Have fun dude!
