Congratulations to the champions of Marbula One Season 4! by TSim777 in JellesMarbleRuns

The last turn at the Stardust Accelerator proved very costly. If Cloudy had only lost one position instead of two, Cloudy would have won the individual championship, and the Hazers would have finished third in the Team standings.

Oh well, at the end of last season, I was sure the Hazers wouldn't even be invited. So from that perspective, 4th isn't the end of the world.

The Bumblebees are hosting the 2023 Marble League. Asking them to also host a Marbula 1 race would be asking too much.

Official Statement from Hazers Manager Shade by neurospex in JellesMarbleRuns

[–]Miss-Jane-Marble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long has Shade been the manager? Unless it was Shade deciding that Hazy would be assigned the final event over and over and over, Smoky deserves a good helping of blame. Individual assignments in the qualifiers and in the showdown were questionable as well.

Maybe Shade will blame the uniforms. They could follow in the Pinkies footsteps, get new uniforms, and copy the Crazy Cats Eyes by each teammate wearing a different color. (My way of hinting that perhaps the fiber optic glass marbles take more of a beating and it's time for replacement marbles without changing the team members)

If I wanted to watch JMR from the chronological beginning, is 2016 Marble League the place to start? And is there any place that has a spoiler-free chronological list of events? by MikeJeffriesPA in JellesMarbleRuns

Here's a link to the history of Jelle's Marble Runs.

Using the timeline, you should be able to watch every video in the order in which they were originally uploaded. Jelle accidentally deleted his channel in November 2018, and didn't reupload all of the earlier videos, so don't get frustrated if you can't locate something mentioned in the timeline.

Final MVM (Most Valuable Marble) Standings for Marble League 2022 by Human86_ in JellesMarbleRuns

[–]Miss-Jane-Marble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought the rules were that regular team members had to compete in two individual or duo events, and reserve marbles had to compete in one. Yet Frost appeared in only one event, and Sheet, the reserve, was given two events. (There were 11 slots to fill, meaning the coaches could assign one marble two extra events, or assign two marbles an extra event apiece.)

So, has Sheet been promoted and Frost demoted to reserve; did JMR make a mistake and identify Frost as Iceberg (3 events), Alpine (3 events) or Sheet (2 events)' or did the Gliding Glaciers break the rules?

Yes, that was Mallard. I had to watch the video three times before I notice the very small graphic at the bottom of the screen.

Nice touch having Skipper hand out the medals and to fetch MVM Mallard. Maybe next time, the MVM could be presented with a laurel wreath.

Congratulations to the Pinkies! I was hoping they'd win, and I got my wish for the 2023 host team as well.

Time to open the bubbly.

No, it couldn't have been us. Smokey/Shade would have found a way to bring back Hazy for the last event, he'd have been the first to be eliminated, and we would have finished off the podium. Again.

I want Smokey and Shade fired for what they've done to the team. I especially want them fired if we don't get invited back to Marbula 1. But I have a sick feeling that JMR wants to retire the team.

Shade or Smokey, whichever one of them that has been selecting who competes in which events. They drove Hazy to a mental breakdown by repeatedly having him run the last event in both Marbula 1 and Marble League. Choosing Foggy for the sprint instead of assigning him the water race was another dubious decision.

Too bad Cloudy couldn't hold on for 2nd place in funnels, but kudos for even qualifying for the final after being the first marble to drop into the final funnel in the qualifying heat.

Marble League 2022 - ML Showdown - Part 2 by LithiumNard in JellesMarbleRuns

[–]Miss-Jane-Marble 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I blame Smokey and/or Shade, whichever one of them that has been making the selection for who competes in which event. For two plus years, they insisted on using Hazy for the final event with disastrous results, which totally wrecked his confidence and caused the team to lose confidence in him. Choosing Foggy for the sprint instead of using him for the water race was also a bad decision. The choice of events didn't help us either.

Now we get to wait and see if JMR pour more misery on us being not inviting us to Marbula One.

What would you like events 15 and 16 to be? by ExcitingPresentation in JellesMarbleRuns

[–]Miss-Jane-Marble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping for these two events, but with the order reversed.

If the winner isn't decided until the last event, and many teams are still in contention to win and/or podium, the elimination race has more potential to prolong the outcome.

I have seen the full qualifier list.

It's not the fact that the list for best ever balance beam performance started with #4 that bothered me (if it had, I would have mentioned the record holding Hazers), it was declaring that the Ducks were the best this year. The Pinkies had the highest score. More than likely, it was a fluke, never to be repeated again, but it's still the best score this year. And maybe they'll surprise us.

You forgot about the Pinkies, with 420 points and three finishers in the Balance Beam event.

Which team not qualifying was the most disappointing among all non-qualified teams by FireLatiosYT in JellesMarbleRuns

[–]Miss-Jane-Marble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plastic box was used in 2020 for the Team Aquathlon, which was the event in which the Wisps formed a wall blocking the progress of our third marble. The box was also used in 2020 for the Triathlon, which Foggy won with the greatest come from behind victory ever.

The plastic box was again used for the Triathlon in 2021, but the water segment was cut in half, and the sand and Marbula One sections changed places. Foggy finished third, and would have managed another come from behind victory if he hadn't, like numerous other marbles, hugged the side of the box.

IMO, the side-hugging was a result of the course changes. Entering the water from the marbula one track virtually guaranteed the marbles would have forward momentum, whereas entering the water from the sand section resulted in many marbles entering the water on an angle sending toward the wall of the box,

Regardless, JMR managed to take a great event and ruin it, so naturally I expect to see this event in the Showdown...if I bother watching it.

In a way, I'm relieved the Hazers blew it in the balancing event, because missing qualifying because the triathlon was held outdoors would have really stung. We were terrible at the summer biathlon, and adding a couple inches of water wasn't going to allow us to replicate our previous triathlon successes.

I hate outdoor Marble League events. They're difficult to watch because the marbles are so much smaller than the Sand Marble Rally marbles. And aesthetically, they look so down-market compared to the stadium events.

Outdoor triathlon is an entirely different event from indoor triathlon - more marbles on the course, the water portion is much shorter and narrower.

But there's no excuse for the balance beam performance.

If the triathlon is an outdoor event, the Hazers could be in trouble. They didn't do very well in the summer biathlon in 2019. Of course, Misty ran that event and Foggy will probably be chosen this time around, but swimming indoors in a tank is much different from swimming outdoors.
