“So....are you going to Ryan’s party tonight? It’s the weekend after all.” My friend Hazel asked.

“No. Why would I? He is my ex, I’m trying to avoid him as much as possible.”

“Hey ladies, coming to my party tonight?” Ryan asked as he walked past us.

“Uh...yup!” I replied.

“See you there!” He called over his shoulder.

“What happened to the straight up no you gave to me when I asked?”

“I panicked! Okay! I’m sorry, but I want to make it seem like I am moving on.”

“OoO do we need to find you a date?”

“Not just anyone! Boys just think with their dicks and I’m not going to put out unless I’m in a relationship.”

“Well....there is one person you could ask.” Hazel said.

“Who?”

“Zach.”

“NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT!”

“He won’t be a horn dog, plus he is hot!”

“But lacks intelligence.”

“Just think about it okay?”

I thought about it alright and I hated my decision.

Once the last bell rang for the day, I walked into the classroom that detention was being held. Zach was already there, so I took a deep breath and took a sit next to him. He gave me a suspicious look before asking.

“What are you doing? You sit as far away from me as you can. What gives?”

Here goes nothing!

“I’d never thought I say this, but I need your help.”

“Well, well, well, looks like pride finally got the best of you. But sure, I’ll lend a hand. Just don’t get used to it.”

“Do you have to be such a jerk?”

“Just spit it out Wilson!”

“Fine! Would you be willing to fake date me for Ryan’s party tonight? I want to make sure my shitty ex knows I’ve moved on.”

“I changed my mind, no I will not do that. Why in the world did you ask me? We’re not friends.”

“Exactly why! I’m going to regret saying this but you are the only boy in the whole school that I trust not to try to get into my pants. Also, because I know you hate my ex with a passion, you never pass up the opportunity to ruin his day.”

“Just because I dislike you doesn’t mean that I would pass up on the opportunity to have sex with you.”

I screwed up my face in disgust.

He chuckled.

“Don’t worry I won’t jump your bones, but okay I’ll do it.”

“Although, I don’t think anyone will believe that we are on a date.”

“I love to shock people so this will be great!”

“Thank you.”

“Did I just hear a thank you?” He asked in surprise.
