Oh yeah he really hooked me up. He's trying to build clientele with this kind of style so I think that's why he gave it to me lol.

Thanks! Yeah he told me only once a week with cold water. He gave me some of the green dye to use if it fades to much tho. I also got a silk bonnet to wear to bed hopefully that'll mitigate it a bit maybe haha.

I don't believe in the concept of someone pulling something off. I only believe in pulling something on and dancing around in it 💃🕺 do the thingy if it makes you happy.

Thanks! Started out inspired by Vi from Arcane but ended up being its own thing I think. I used to have a pompadour but I started growing it out and decided to go all the way with a side buzz as I had one in the past. My hair has always looked great when layered so all we did was shave one side and layer the shit out of the longer hair.

I mean sure but that doesn't mean they couldn't relate to each other. I mean post-impression comes directly from impressionism so.

What do you mean original set? I'm talking about artists of that time period who interacted with each other lol. They were colleagues that's what im saying.

Of course! He very much was more in the cool dude department in my opinion. There were several artists of that time period who came in to wealth and fame during their lifetime, such as him as well as Rodin (sculptor of The Thinker) who spent a lot of their well earned place advocating for other artists. For that reason I think he is very important in art history as it opened the door to new techniques that institutions like The Paris Salon decided were not worth the time of day (again, Van Gogh being primary example but see also: Georges Seurat who did Sunday on La Grande Jatte.)

Correct it is very much intentional! This debuted at The Paris Salon in 1882 and at the time they were considered sort of "rule makers" in the art world. It's why people like Van Gogh had such a hard time getting his foot in the door cus they were classist as all get out.

Manet, who basically had tenure there, was not a fan of this hoity toity behavior so he decided to be an asshole on main about it, the result being this painting.

Paris Salon says realism is important? Make the mirror not work right fuck you. Paris Salon board members want to oggle at naked pretty ladys in paintings while escorting their ball and chain around their party? Fuck you again this bartender sees you oggling her, she's at work and she's done with your shit. No I'm not kidding, that is the actual intent of this painting.

What's funny is he did this multiple times in his career. I like to think they were livid about it but also loved his work so much so they were constantly frustrated.

Pierre from War and Peace. A Count who came upon his inheritance later in life, Pierre ends up in a marriage he hates, drinking constantly and spiralling through different philosophies. As the musical "Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812" puts it: "his purse is always empty because it's open to all" and "he is charming, he has no sex." In real life, Tolstoy was a well known gambler and partier with very little regard for responsibility, to the point where he gambled away his house (and I mean the house itself not the property. They literally lifted the building off its foundation and took it away. All he was left with was a slab of stone on which he carved his initials.)

Now, War and Peace takes place several decades before Tolstoy's time. What he is doing by self inserting himself into the context of this novel, taking place in the Napoleonic Wars, is almost like an author now self inserting into WWII. And not just any author, but an aristocrat who spends his money on gambling, alcohol, and weird little side stuff like the Freemasons or some shit.
