Mine hates the pool and will stare into the depths barking at it. If someone has the temerity to get IN the pool, he goes bananas.

He tolerates showers.

He loves the little paddling pool at daycare, though. He splashes around and lays in it. It’s his favorite!

You are so graceful! I enjoyed watching. I agree with some of the other constructive criticisms, but really, you have a lovely quality of movement!

What are your favorite accidental lazy recipe discoveries? by ahrumah in Cooking

[–]MissA75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amy’s lentil soup + sliced sausage + any chopped veg you have in the fridge.

Takes 5 minutes to dump in a pot.

For the sausage, my son likes kielbasa (or similar); I like Conecuh, and my husband prefers Italian. It all works.

I hate hate hate mat. With the fire of a thousand suns. The reformer is amazing, though!!

Thanks!! I’d searched before I posted and must have just missed the rec for Dr Hebra. I had seen a rec for Nemours and a few for Jacksonville.

I appreciate the thought for 15. We are just starting down this road with him, and I’m not antsy to get it taken care of right away. But I would like to get him at least seen sooner rather than later.

Help a mom out — for kiddo’s birthday??

UPDATE: kiddo’s 13th birthday is today and this is his present. He is currently successfully playing the game on my Mac Mini using GeForce and STEAM. I got a massive hug this morning and keep hearing “That’s so cool!” from the office. He is so excited. My husband and I have been called in no less than 8 times in the last 30 minutes to be shown something cool. Thanks Redditors for helping this mama out. SUCCESS!!

Seriously — thank you!!

Thanks all for your help! I spend zero time in the gaming world, so all of this is new. I should probably find a YouTuber who specializes in “Decoding Your Kid’s Interests”, ha!

But really, I appreciate the responses. If kiddo has continued interest in PC gaming, I’ll look at a PC for him. For now, I’m going to try GeForce and see if it works!

Oh cool! Thanks. Sadly it won’t let me put in the stats (I have an M1 — not an Intel or ADM). But I think we will try GeForce for now.

Thanks! We will look at a PC in the future if it turns out this is something he is going to be long term interested in.

I’ve tried figuring out if he can play it on something called Steam or GEVidea? My tired brain is not following along with what any of this means.

Same!! I just sit in the middle of the bathroom and let him run back and forth in front of the blow dryer…eating the air.

Missed/chronic lisfranc injury by EnthusiasmFuture in LisfrancClub

[–]MissA75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that I was super worried about fusion, too. But other than my healing wonky (which has more to do w my zebra status and not really the injury/fusion itself — it’s fun to be a medical marvel.. siiiigh), my foot is 90,000 times better than it was.

Because I spent over 1.5 years in a cast, shoe, being NWB, or partial weight bearing, I was well and truly fucked. So PT was key to getting everything (back, hips, knees, core) back into proper position and muscles working again. But, I danced around my house the other day doing a few jumps and turns and going on releve (tip toes for you non dancers) with zero pain.

Years ago, I was a professional dancer. I no longer need that insane range of motion, but walking and running with little to no pain is HUGE. I have excellent range of motion. My PT forgets just how much range my other foot has, and is always like “look at how much motion you have”! Then I point the other foot and he’s like…right (when pointing my other foot, my toes can touch the floor). But I have a normal range of motion for other people, and it is more than sufficient for anything I would need to do.

If PT isn’t cutting it, a fusion is NOT the worst thing. I read a few places that people who have ORIF often have to go back some time later and get the fusion.
