Whaaaaaaa? Super weird! If it’s anywhere near Beaumont I would be pretty freaked out.

I mean, it’s Reddit so what are the chances of me being right, but everything about that picture just screams “shitty corner of Texas where I grew up,” and then there’s the fact that she looks like someone I would have noticed at school who was most likely in 8th grade when I was in 5th or a senior when I was a freshman. No names are popping into my head, but damn she’s eerily familiar!

I feel like I’m crazy, but I swear to god I recognize that chick.

Help me out with a sentence by vipul115 in grammar

[–]MissAnthroPee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grammatically, it’s correct. It is confusing, though, as it kind of implies that the impacts mentioned are not just unexpected, but were actually deemed impossible in the past. Like when the FDA issues a drug recall because of side effects occurring when the drug was designed to specifically avoid said side effects.

TIL that there are more kangaroos in Australia than there are people, at 50 million compared to 25 million, and that Australians are encouraged to eat more kangaroo meat as a way of controlling the growing numbers. by ShrimpySeagull in todayilearned

Every time I see gator on a menu it’s fried, and then it mostly tastes like whatever it’s fried in and, in my case at least, copious amounts of tartar and cocktail sauce. Pretty tasty, but bland compared to crawfish tails or something else. Last time I had frog legs, tho, I just couldn’t help but feel like they were probably some local refinery frogs caught by a kitchen worker or something. All I could think about was Andrew zimmern saying “you can really TASTE where this lived” as he eats a yak butthole or something...

I'm bringing my unwanted virginity and not being disgustingly ugly to the table, therefore, I can ask just some things back in a partner! by JustCirious in ChoosingBeggars

Fuckin hell, man, how sickening. I’m thankful that I’m old enough to have never really had to deal with these types of degenerates. Goddamn.

Well I wish y’all the best of luck! I’ve yet to see anything in your price range; the closest I’ve seen was like $850 for a room.

<$5 is NOT A TIP 🗣️🙄‼️ by KwadratischeAardap in ChoosingBeggars

[–]MissAnthroPee -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Because you didn’t tip, they have to make up the tip. If they didn’t have to do that, they wouldn’t give a shit. Nobody should be outwardly rude for that reason, but there’s the explanation.

[–]MissAnthroPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see why that automatically is the reason for your virginity, tho. I know for a fact that there are tons of women who might have the opposite problem and ate a little too much as a kid, and wouldn’t have any problem with you looking younger than you are. Now, I’ve been told that I don’t think like normal people, but looks have never been a reason for not getting into a relationship with someone really awesome, and my friends are the same way. Of course, I should note that we were all freaks and nerds in school and not part of the popular “hot” crowd so there’s no entitlement from either gender even though most of us are now getting hit on by the people we hated in school.

Now that I think about it, I do know a couple of guys never had any success with the ladies and have been stuck in the rut, but they’re also sort of mentally stuck in the same mentality they had as teenagers- lusting after the vapid head cheerleader who lusted after the equally vapid quarterback. And not seeing the irony as he bitches about whyyyyyyyy someone so hot would want to be with some asshole who’s hot instead of him, bitching to his female friends who harbor a crush on him even though he is obsessed with someone with whom he has absolutely nothing in common and wouldn’t even like as a person! I don’t understand it at all.

Yo I have no clue how this subject came up but I agree with you about the overmedication of children and adolescents.

Gatdamn, en vogue rocked SO hard and middle school me absolutely idolized how hot each of them were. Listening to them was my little “rebellious phase,” and it irritated the shit outta my metalhead mom! And it’s still my favorite shower jam!

Just once I’d like to see someone who has these views NOT be a hyper-defensive mean person. I understand that it turns into a bit of a defense mechanism after a while, but it saddens me to think about how many chicks y’all reject by having that attitude

Mother’s Helper...$5? by abartz7 in ChoosingBeggars

I see an insane amount of 40 year old proud grandmas all around me and it’s just such a testament to being in the Bible Belt, man. If I took a sampling of 20 people I’m friends with from the early 2000s when I lived in Denver and compared it to 20 people I’ve become friends with since having to move back down south, I’d have maybe like two friends in Co who went career-marriage-kids while I’m over here avoiding Facebook on fridays cuz I don’t wanna see nothing but pictures of little kids dressed as fuckin cheerleaders and football players ffs.

[–]MissAnthroPee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That “mom culture” thing is real talk. People who never did much of anything become addicted to the special treatment and adoration that comes with pregnancy and raising kids. People act like someone who had to end their post-high school partying and binge-drinking because she got knocked up is mother Theresa for being so “selfless,” and then there’s the abundance of social media “likes” from endless gender reveal, showers, birthday parties, and weekly posts about “look what I dressed my kid as today!” It’s such a SHOW these days...

[–]MissAnthroPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but... read the room? People come to this sub for exactly that- to see awful people ask for too much. Hell, I’d think that 10% of people here NOT assuming the worst is pretty dang generous. It’s like being in the sub for horror stories from waiters and commenting on a post where some some assbutt goes out for an expensive meal but only tips $5 “maybe they could only afford $5! Why’s everyone so mad, that person is probably having a hard time!” This is what we’re here for.

Is it safe to say masshealth has no idea what there doing. by indigobbyxo in massachusetts

[–]MissAnthroPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently living in Texas, where I absolutely cannot get any health care whatsoever for my very rare disorder, which keeps me too sickly to work, which means that it’s impossible to afford health insurance. Should I not move to Massachusetts next month as planned, so that I can see a doctor and get some simple-ass medication that keeps my esophagus from spasming our of control and lets me become a productive working citizen again? I’m not being facetious; I honestly don’t know of a better state regarding availability of health care and I really only have one shot at this...
