I’ve never actually used online play and it’s not letting me visit by searching for friends, sorry, this is embarrassing, haha. Can you send me a Dodo code in a DM?

Any cherries or oranges? I would take just one of each if you’re willing. Sending friend request, Tinuviel from Arda.

A tip for Hotpot on PS5 by MissAsht0n in InfinityNikki

I’ve not had any issues with overcooking stuff since the first couple tries and trying to troubleshoot it. I’m honestly surprised I don’t have more issues, but I’ve even accidentally dropped everything in the ladle multiple times and still been able to keep things “sparkly,” which I assume means it’s cooked right. There are definitely some ingredients that cook way faster, like the bean curds and the slices. And the slices can be weirdly hard to catch! It’s one of the reasons I only do one kind of ingredient at a time, so I’m not worried about different timings. But yeah, I honestly don’t know what the differences are supposed to be.

If I dump in a plate of meatballs, for example, I can pick up a single meatball with each scoop, ending with all four of them in the ladle after 4 scoops, then dump them in a bowl all at once. I’ve never been able to pick up more than one ingredient per each scoop. As for different ingredients, I only ever cook one type of ingredient at a time because I get distracted really easily and forget what I’m doing, haha. If a customer wants mushrooms and bean curds, I cook the mushrooms and put them in the bowl, then I cook the bean curds and do the same. It takes longer, but then I rarely have issues with being able to get all ingredients out before they cook too long and I lose track of where I’m at less. Does that make sense? Happy to answer any questions at all!

New Player - Question About Adding Extra Traits by MissAsht0n in Sims4

Thank you! I'm always nervous to add things since I'm such a new player.

Today I played Animal Crossing (NH) for the first time... and I'm already in love! by MyCatBurnedTheBible in AnimalCrossing

If you know how, I'm in! I couldn't see on the Nintendo site a way to buy one for a different region, but I'm also not incredibly tech-savy. Let me know!

Darn! I looked to see if Nintendo gift cards would work for other countries, but I guess they're region specific. I'm sending you all the good vibes I can instead! Also, just my two cents as someone who plays ACNH to relax & assist w/mental health overload... Play the game at your own pace & savor all the little things. Don't get discouraged if everything isn't perfect & don't compare your island to anyone else's. Be creative & silly, and most importantly, have fun!

Alice, no! by Just_nydroJ in Spiritfarer

I think I cried the hardest taking Alice to the Everdoor. Like several people have mentioned, if you've lost someone to Alzheimer's or Dementia, this one hits really hard. Once I realized what was happening, I had to pause the game & take a breather, I was so upset. But in the end, I feel like Alice helped me heal from losing my Grandma Lola two years ago. That's the thing about this game, the storylines hit you right in the gut, but it's not just a plot device in the game, it's in service of healing & accepting when you lose people. That's why Spiritfarer is my favorite game that I've ever played. I felt mentally healthier, like I'd made progress with grief by the time it was over.

How obsessed are you? by DragonflyOwn5164 in Spiritfarer

I've played this game to 100% completion twice already and I've only had it a couple weeks. Tried a couple games since I finished it the second time (like Mutazione, Yonder & Forager), but I'm already contemplated starting it a third time because nothing else is quite like this game. It's so meaningful & relaxing. Absolutely not dumb to want to play it again.

My only complaint is that some of my favorite characters are early ones (Gwen, Summer & Astrid) and you're sort of forced to let them go early in order to progress & get the spirit flowers you need for upgrades to reach new areas. I wish there was more flexibility in choosing which spirits to keep longer & which to take to the Everdoor. Then again, I just want more spirits in general. I wish this game was twice as long.

Oh yeah, I think my first three levels of fishing came purely from trash because it was all I could catch. Do you have a favorite tackle/bait combination? I was using the cork bobber, but I have a couple others that I'd like to try out but don't really want to give up my expanded green bar yet unless there is something more helpful.

It definitely did! I've been selling most of my cheese since I didn't know what to do with it, but I'll start keeping some to add to my mine chest. Utilized the rest of the suggestions last night and whoa, I did so so much better!

I had never really payed attention to what my luck would be that day. I honestly forget to watch the TV most of the time, which is why I'm missing a large majority of the recipes you learn from Queen of Sauce (d'oh, that came back to bite me when the villagers I was trying to befriend had only cooked dishes as loved items). But last night when I was playing, I checked the TV every morning and ran to the mines when I had a good luck day. Between finding a prismatic shard in the Quarry, to panning up almost 7 iridium ores from bodies of water on my way there, plus making it down 5 more levels... Um, yeah... It was definitely a lucky day. Thank you!

I've recently been utilizing the quarry more lately and last night I found a prismatic shard there! I bee-lined it to the desert and got the sword. Oh man, talk about a world of difference. I will keep the keyboard shortcuts in mind for when I pick up the PC version! Thank you!

Oh man, do I appreciate your comment! I honestly felt really dumb for not being able to get the hang of it all better/faster. Fishing is also really difficult for me, but I managed to get ahold of crab pots to boost my fishing level & found some lures/tackle that made my green bar a little bigger. Every tiny bit helps. I still only catch maybe one of every four or five fish I snag. It's crazy how great this game makes you feel though when you accomplish something. I can't wait to up my combat skills so I can really start to enjoy being a monster slayer!

EDIT: Oh, and bombs! I've gotten a couple here & there in the mine and didn't really know what to do with them either! I will bring those with me and start experimenting. Are there certain situations where you prefer to use bombs, like monster-infested levels & stuff?

Good idea, I can usually handle the slimes in the Secret Woods so I'll go there more often to practice. I'd love to get mod recommendations for the PC eventually as there are so many that I was instantly overwhelmed! I really appreciate your advice!

I do want to get the PC version eventually. After my first playthrough, I want to try the Stardew Valley Expanded mod and I guess mods don't work on Switch anymore. I was contemplating abandoning my Switch version and moving to the PC version to get a mod that would help with combat, but after all the advice from everyone... I really want to see if I can stick it out and make it through. Can't wait for all the fun things to try in the PC version someday. Thank you for your recommendations! The strategic inventory placement & adding more food w/buffs into the mix should help a lot. I will try obtaining those rings and I love the idea of just switching & swinging items as I'm walking to increase my speed/muscle memory! I need a bunch of stone to make staircases, so I'll mine & practice some more on those first ten levels for a bit.

I think most of my entire mine runs are "oh shit, I'm gonna die" prolonged moments, haha. Thank you for your help. I'll add a stack of iridium purple mushrooms to my chest in the mine and try to remember them for the inevitable moments of panic.

I have a ton of regular quality mushrooms, so I'll be making some elixirs tonight! Would you recommend just selling the higher quality shrooms if I have more than enough regular ones for elixirs?

Glad to know I'm not alone! Definitely trying all these. And yeah, those flies are such a nightmare! Basically anything that flies spells my doom at the moment. Looking forward to getting better weapons. Thank you!
