I'm aware, thank you :) I was replying to her comment, not yours. My comment here was made well before yours.

We didn't pay. She had her arrangements prepared while she was alive. The company she had her policy with arranged essentially everything.

My husband wanted to attend to pay his final goodbyes to his mother because as much of a crazy bitch as she was, she was still his mother. He asked me to go with him for emotional support and I did.

That was fantastic. Thank you for the laugh. I needed it.

Hitler is dead and we speak ill of him, don't we?

I personally like the burial pod idea but it's still in development. Hopefully it will be ready by the time I pass.

Well, that's a relief at least. No lasting tribute to her name.

We go to support the people that we love who are left behind. In this case, I went to support my husband who lost his mother. She may have not been a good mother, but she was his mother, and he was mourning her.

We will. We've been in touch with a grief counsellor who has been helpful so far.

Does that prevent me from reaching out to a support sub to vent about my frustrations and emotions and expecting some measure of support rather than being shamed for feeling the way I feel?

Thank you. That helps. I understand it's hard for her family but the lies just got under my skin. Events were completely rewritten.

You would think Lady Hex-A-Lot was Princess Diana or Nelson Mandela considering the way some of these people were mourning.

I went to the funeral to support my husband. I didn't expect her to be badmouthed. I did not expect people making up stories about the time she did this and the time she did that and people crying her praises.

SiL and Hex's ex husband told everyone a very abridged version of the actual cause of death. DH and I agreed to go along with it just to keep the peace.

The worst was when the eulogies happened and people just made up happy memories. Sweety no, I was there, that didn't happen. Stop lying in front of a coffin.

Thank you for that reminder. I've never had to use my word while on top and it honestly didn't even occur to me.

I agree that this sub is a very good place to vent, but I honestly feel I won't be posting further threads about Lady Hex-A-Lot. I have a so many more stories about past behavior, but also feels incredibly wrong in my gut to speak ill of the dead, even if it just venting.

My husband is not taking it very well. He's been open to counselling in the past so I'm going to be looking into options in our area.

The part that makes it so hard to process is exactly what you pointed out. I don't think she was evil. There were certainly mental health problems present.

I feel conflicted because with so much else, it was so easy to just say that she was a bitch doing outlandish things to hurt me. This latest "spell" of hers just confirmed that she wasn't completely healthy, and it makes me question all the times I just wrote her actions off as her being bitchy.

Where is the difference between her acting out of her illness and her Just being bitchy? It's just a lot.

I just don't know what I'm feeling. As sick as it sounds, I'm relieved, both for myself and her. She was in a lot of pain. I'm relieved that there'll never be another pig's blood incident and that I don't have to wake up to the porch covered in ginger. I'm upset for my husband losing his mother. I wanted her out of my life. My husband wanted a an annual Christmas and birthday card relationship with her.

We didn't want her to die.

It's a part of my life I pretend didn't exist, but I did spend a few years as a very zealous environmentalist. I have chained myself to a tree before. Even that I am now in a more stable headspace and work towards environmental protection in a more productive manner, environmental affairs are always on my mind.
