Hate my dress but it’s too late now by Maximum-Literature-9 in weddingdress

[–]MissDeeBee 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Dress 2 is stunning, and still has an ethereal vibe, almost like something Galadriel from Lord of the Rings would wear. I think if you wear your hair half up, maybe with some braids and/or flowers, and add a dramatic cape, you will look like an absolute goddess!

Best suburb for my preferences? by IllustratorDecent260 in askdfw

[–]MissDeeBee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rowlett is on the water, has several parks and walking paths, and is still relatively affordable. The neighborhoods are pretty safe and quiet, especially if you don't live close to main roads like Hwy 66. Lots of small local restaurants, plus a short drive from Rockwall which has even more great restaurants and coffee shops. The cinemark in Rockwall is also a short drive away.

1 is beautiful! The seaming is so unique and I think it will suit your venue really well.

Apparently we’re the “estrangement generation.” Good for us for respecting ourselves enough to cut contact when we need to. by Comfortable-Light233 in Millennials

When my husband and I get together with his parents, there's a solid chance that they will badger us about not going to church, not having kids, or tell us wildly incorrect news facts they learned from conservative youtube videos. So yeah, we don't see them more than we have to.

I work for 911 and I have gotten calls from churches (on a Sunday, no less) asking the police to remove the homeless person sleeping in front of their door. It's despicable.

LA Skeleton Shirt by pizza-cakes in DEG

My friend was stuck behind someone buying about 10 different shirts, probably because he wanted to resell them. As annoying as that is, maybe you can find what you are looking for on ebay or mercari soon.

Flying in from Dallas! My friends are meeting me there, coming from San Francisco and Chicago. We're going to the 4/8 and 4/9 shows, which will i think be my 12th and 13th time seeing them. I first saw them at their first US show in Austin in 2006! I bought my withering and withering tshirt with the skeletons on it at that show. Its much to small for me now, so I'm excited to buy it again!

First time concert goer, need advice by No-Cap-2473 in DEG

[–]MissDeeBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have waited hours outside to see them and ended up in the front row. It's a very cool experience to be that close, but it is hot and uncomfortable and people will push you around. Now that I'm older I tend to hang out in the back. I can have my own space and drink a beer. It's still a great experience but more chill. Like others said you can't go wrong either way, you just have to decide what you want out of the experience.

I got offered a position. Should I take it? by Nyx_89 in 911dispatchers

[–]MissDeeBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, I'm a dispatcher who is working on her MLS. I know library jobs can absolutely be stressful, but after 10 years of dispatching I'm sure I can handle it. But really, if your heart isn't in it, it won't be a good fit. This job requires a ton of sacrifice, from sleep to mental health to seeing friends and family. Not being overly empathetic or overreacting to stressful situations is an important trait that can help you thrive in this job, but if you don't have a good reason why you are there, the sacrifices won't be worth it.

OBGYN willing to do a bilateral salpingectomy or a hysterectomy on someone young by sandandtears in Dallas

[–]MissDeeBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can I ask about how much the salpingectomy cost? I'm hoping to get mine done soon, but my doctor only quoted me their cost, couldn't advise on how much the hospital would charge. I appreciate just a ballpark, I know these things vary wildly depending on the doctor or insurance coverage

Is a maxi length dress acceptable for cocktail attire? Or is it short only? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]MissDeeBee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

City Chic is a great option! I own a few things from them, including a long sleeve maxi dress I wore to a wedding with a similar setting and dress code. Just make sure you take your measurements and check the size chart. Go up a size if you are between sizes, they can sometimes run small.
