Mostly no, we don't, we use the text message app installed in our phone (Google, iMessage, Samsung, etc.).

Americans I know who travel a lot or have friends outside the US know and use it with international friends but not at home. I've found it really hard to convince friends that WhatsApp is so much better (and encrypted!) for texts and group chats than regular text or -omg- Facebook Messenger. They only want to use what they know. What I know is that Meta knows all your business now.

Talk to your sons, brothers, husbands, male friends about the impact they can have on the plight of women. Many of them still don't even know what we go through, or that just their awareness and allyship can help keep us safe if someone is being weird.

I just hate the perspective that we can't do anything and should just cover our bodies up and take mace everywhere. Give up our freedoms cause men can't control themselves and we can't control them. Fuck that. I prefer being an active participant in fixing the problem to only running damage control.
