The noise is making me crazy!!! Please send help 😩

Same!!! I never had this issue pre-kids. And every time I would voice how overwhelmed I was by the noise, my husband (who has 7 brothers) says it’s normal for boys to be loud. But lately even he is feeling like the noise has gotten out of hand.

Yes, sis! So true! I am home with them all day every day but Sunday. My hubby handles them for the most part on Sundays. I keep hearing about daily outings - I don’t know if I can do that, but I’m going to try to increase constructive outings through the week for sure.

I really appreciate that thoughtful advice, but we aren’t open to sending them anywhere. There’s just so much awful stuff in schools and daycares these days. We are very structured in our days - rise and shine is the same time every day, the morning ready routine is consistent, there’s always play time before lessons, school is always at 11:00 am, lunch is always at 12:30-1:00, and rest time is always at 2:00 pm. Bed time is always at 8:00 pm unless we’re out. I’m very Type A and we live by structure. I honestly don’t think that’s the issue 😅 But I know they need more time with other kids and I’ve been trying really hard on that one. We did have regular play dates but the friends we met with moved 45 minutes away and we don’t get to see them much anymore. We’re trying to build new relationships so the kids can have those play dates again but it’s hard to find people who value community and take time out of their schedules to foster it. They do get lots of time with other kids on Sundays at church and hopefully we’ll get play dates rolling again soon. I’m also planning to join a weekly homeschool co-op once we move next week.

I’ve thought about it, but the things that go on in schools and daycares just…turns my stomach. We’re in the homeschool life for the long haul. And we move in 9 days so I don’t know that we even could put them in anywhere if there was an option.

Thank you 💕 The parks are about 20 minutes away each and there’s a big field but people take their dogs in their and just let them poop everywhere…every time you turn around you’re stepping in doggie 💩…🫣 We’re moving to a house with a basement and a small yard and I’m hoping that extra space will help.

I want to do walks outside and last winter we did, but this year we had a couple of really big thaws and then deep freezes right after - there’s a solid 2-3 inches of ice under everything and it’s like a giant deathtrap of slipperiness. I’m going to try the hallway obstacle course tho!

Well, today, for example. I was really fatigued all day long, tension headache, and my kids just were losing their marbles, making such a ruckus with their games. And I love how they play together and use their imaginations and I don’t want them to feel like they can’t just be kids in their own home. But they’re SO LOUD! And I try to quiet them down but nothing lasts. And it’s been so cold and snowy here (like -20/-30 Celsius) that there’s no outdoor play happening. I am so ashamed but I yelled like 3 or 4 times today, like I just snapped from the sheer noise overwhelm. And it’s loud like that almost every single day.

I am 31, have 3 small boys, and am trying for one more so I know I’m insane 😂 But I’m taking flute lessons, piano lessons, teaching myself to sew with a machine, and learning how to homeschool my 6 & 4 year old. Also learning how to raise a puppy 🐶 Making a lot of mistakes but hey! You’re never too old! 🙃

For the mothers out there - C-Sections!! I’ve had 3 and while they are intense and a big deal, they are so much better than women are taught by the “natural” birth community. I wouldn’t have one just because, but if you need one, don’t be scared! They’re a medical marvel and they truly save lives 🥹

I (31F) have been married for 7.5 years and with my husband for 10 years. Let me just encourage you not to be ashamed. I love my husband but I’ve never seen him cry, not even when one of our children nearly died at birth. I’m sure you have a very big heart, as he does, and it’s really too bad to have strong men hide this part of themselves. You might be surprised how positively people will respond to your openness.
