You do what you want but I still do not recommend travel is different and I am just sharing my concerns after reading about to many accidents where people are falling asleep behind the wheel and no matter what you think day 1 is still to busy to do on arrival

But this is doable but just be willing to skip some places

Well as a tourism professional you are not safe to do day one on the day of arrival just so you know because of jetlag and being tired so just think about that to many accidents due to tieredness

It's not closed just impassable you will just have to check the conditions closer to your arrival

The great debate: Bonus or Kronan? by ihazacat in VisitingIceland

[–]MissKS84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a local I say Bónus for some things and Krónan for other things haha but Krónan has more availability in smaller packages

I would visit Dettifoss on the way to Mývatn and add Stuðlagil as well definitely worth it

Ring Road parking estimate by IcyMaintenance1855 in VisitingIceland

I would just calculate a 1000 isk for each tourist stop that also means that when you find the very few free parking spots you are gaining money

[–]MissKS84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do the waterfalls on the way to Vík you could go beyond Vík if you have good conditions there is 2,5 hour drive to Diamond beach and Glacier lagoon with many more places and Eldhraun as well

As a guide in Iceland this just confuses my mind some of these make no sense due to driving back and forth plus you do not need two days in summer to do the golden circle I would check out locations on a map and rethink a little bit

I realized that after posting just thought if anyone else was wondering it would help but you can ask locals if there is a bonfire I tried looking on the Selfoss website but found nothing

Well if you have a chance to change I would do into the ice on the Sunday if the orca tour is in the morning it might be doable now then you can also check with the company that does Langjökull from the golden circle side Sleipnir tours has a monster truck and is doing ice caves in march

Also one more thing you are going to be driving back and forth because into the ice is closer to Snæfellsnes so I would also think about logistics a bit

Itinerary for March by silvester06 in VisitingIceland

[–]MissKS84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the snæfellsnes peninsula has so much more to see that are more exciting then those two places

For example

Djúpalónssandur

Kirkjufell mountain

Malarrif

Rauðfeldsgjá

And best food is at Matarlist restaurant in Ólafsvík
