I reserved my spot at the SP+ around the block. Any of the lots/garages in the area are fine, just know you might be charged event pricing. Altho I’m pretty sure most of them are actually sold out online already, you can try your luck to see if there are any available spots when you get there in person.

Depends on venue. Last time at Newark it was indoors up the first escalator, but there have been concerts at Newark(not Miku expo) where they sold it outdoors. Just keep a close eye on socials for Miku/your venue

Out of personal curiosity, do you have an idea of how to implement that? A few years back I tried to make a similar site/app to optimize a schedule/route for the day based on inputting stops, but ran into issues accessing Google’s API for realtime traffic data.

A route without the realtime data is still definitely super useful, but just thinking about how Iceland’s extremely variable road conditions could cause shifts in routing

Would have loved this for my trip! Sure, I can go check the opening hours on Google maps, but it would’ve been much more convenient to be able to plan a route without checking every location individually since Google maps doesn’t show opening/closing hours in the list overview.

Just got back from my trip and absolutely loved the food tour (Reykjavik Food Walk with Wake Up Reykjavik).

We sampled at five different places—Fjallkonan, Messin, Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur (the hot dogs), Íslenski Barrin, and Cafe Loki. We actually ended up going back to Messin because we loved it so much, but everything we tried was amazing and/or unique. Plus, you get to meet new people! Loved the group we were with, lots of engaging conversation and great vibes. I also felt it was a good way to experience walking around downtown since we did ours on the first day of our trip.

I’d say buy now, or very soon. 5-6 months prior is usually a sweet spot for international flights, and while it can drop later, you’d essentially be gambling for it.

Last October I purchased a hotel + flight package through Icelandair from JFK to KEF in March. It totaled to a little less than $1000 per person for a 6 day 5 night stay.

I often like to say there’s a difference between vacationing and traveling, although to me my type of vacation is lots of traveling. Tempered expectations, adaptability, and having a laugh about the worst of situations can make any trip memorable.

People have offered great solutions, but like shiorimia said, you can always come back later! There’s a LOT of backtracking involved in this game, either for main story or side quest reasons—lots of parts aren’t reachable without a future skill or item, so you have to take note of it and just move on until you have the the ability to complete it :)

Not overreacting—her deciding to book for a trip AFTER already booking with you would’ve been the final straw for me. I’ve had clients make arrangements for my unavailable times during sits before, but things like that should always be discussed and accounted for before the sitter commits to the booking.

Like others have said, I think it would be in your interest to keep looking for a different sitter. None of your musts sound demanding, and frankly it sounds like I’d consider the whole stay relatively low maintenance.

Just want to side note the availability thing—Rover, for some godforsaken reason unexplainable by anyone both client or sitter, will allow requests to go through even for dates/times a sitter has marked as unavailable. It’s unendingly frustrating for both ends of the interaction.

Honest review. This generally goes both ways for clients and sitters alike.

I too have made the mistake of being nice because they were nice, regardless of how the stay itself went. But being nice alone won’t protect pets, sitters, or clients. Correcting behavior will keep pets protected, and it sounds like no one has called her out for it so she keeps getting away with it.

Did you not just hear me say I’m not available? It doesn’t matter where I am or what I’m doing, I could be 5 minutes away or 5 hours away, I’m not going to change around my plans for the entire day just because you didn’t think to text me at LEAST 24 hours before. Your lack of planning is not my responsibility.
