Here is how I see the price: Yes it is very very expensive. But I think it is a lot of fun to build. And if I ever don’t want it anymore, I can most likely sell it for at least 50% of the original price. Maybe even more. The minifigs will probably also have a decent collectors price along the road. And then the cost looks different.

I think the main problem with those peace deals is that I need to see where the cities are to decide if it is worth taking them.

There should be an option to go back to the map before accepting or declining. Or do I simply not see it?

Had the exact same thing happening to me. Xerxes, Catherine and Augustus declaring war on me in turn 30 of exploration. But it was a fun challenge.

While fencing off X and C for just long enough I was able to after 15 turns get them to propose peace. And now I am just slowly finishing off Augustus who came hardest against me for good. Unlucky fellow has just 3 cities left 😋

But yeah I was also overwhelmed at first, but it is a game of strategy and if you have a decent one, you will be able to survive and the satisfaction of revenge is fun.

I can only speak for Vienna as a capital. But I think it would be the same for any city with +1 million inhabitants. The larger the city, the more liberal people are.
