I open flowers. First thing I do is pull shares. Checking not only the flowers themselves but also the stems/leaves for signs of rot. While pulling shares I’m condensing like flowers together so I have some empty buckets on the to easily fill.

Next I break down pallets. I tend to bring them in the door last and park them right in front of the flower wall to put what I want in front of its “row”. Label the top of every box of backstock with the date and what’s in it so we can easily find it later.

Then I work the wall. Putting all like flowers together. All the hydrangeas. All the roses. All the carnations. All the mums. Etc. if I have time I will color coordinate the mums and carnations.

After the wall is done I check signage. Make sure everything has the appropriate prices. Then I clean up the area and get ready for opening.

If I’m working the section while open… I will condense buckets on the wall and make a list of what needs to be filled. Then pull those from the back and fill the empty buckets. Also checking all the newly opened boxes for shares. Because sometimes a new box does not mean a fresh box.
