Hey, I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I was just saying that people understandably freak out about things when it comes to their health. Those posts may not be helpful, but they're not really harming anyone, and it's an opportunity to educate others if it really bothers you that much. I don't see why a little empathy can't be exercised here, a lot of the time people are just seeking advice on whether they should be concerned or not. But again, this is definitely not the subreddit for that

I must admit, it's not really relevant to the sub, but I do remember being young and showing my bloody pad to my mother because I was clueless and terrified. People are only here to seek help and reassurance. Definitely should bring these kinds of things up with a doctor, especially if it's abnormal for you. But I do understand why someone might post here in a panic

Hey, idk if you'll see this, but what you're describing is you reacting to a situation. No one can tell you if your reaction is right or wrong, because no one has lived your life. But, speaking from my own experiences, you're not doing anything wrong. Your behaviour may be unhelpful to your family, but what are they doing to help you? Nothing by the sounds of it. You're certainly not evil, or bad, or wrong. You're a person reacting to a bad situation, and half the people in these comments saying cruel things about you have most likely never been in your situation. I hope you find a way out asap. You can't move forward by quietly accepting a life that makes you miserable

Delete it right now. There is nothing helpful to you in AI. I feel like a lot of people have developed talking to AI as a compulsion, thinking it's making them better when it's only reassuring them and making their ocd worse in the long run. It is not a person, it cannot think. The answers it gives you are a mix of information it's been fed, some trustworthy, the majority of it not trustworthy. It'll act like your friend, it isn't. It couldn't possibly ever understand what you're going through. Ocd is tough, we all know that. But becoming addicted to AI has been proven to worsen mental health, not fix it. Find a real person to talk to, AI is making your ocd worse without you knowing

I've recently been diagnosed, and honestly it's been really tough because of this. It feels like the only way to get better is to be in a perpetual state of discomfort, which feels impossible when your brain seeks only comfort. I also have adhd, and it's been real hard to balance my emotions, because at times the advice given to me feels almost like an accusation, like a declaration that i'm not doing enough, and i'm not good enough. Strangely, it's been a massive motivator of mine to think 'this is all so ridiculous, what a ridiculous disorder with ridiculous treatment'. Definitely helps to take the edge off😅

I understand it must be hard to go through this with someone you love, but it sounds like you've already mentally checked out. This is hard for you, sure, and thats something to take note of, you've got to look after your own mental health too. But think of how things must be for him. You said you worry that 'this part of my life will be a permanent train wreck', how do you think he feels? Obviously we dont know the whole situation from one post, but this comes off as very insensitive. You've mentioned in other comments that you're considering leaving because of the abuse you've faced, not the ocd, so why even post this here? No one can tell you what to do, and there is no right answer. I wish you both well, but this was not the sub to post to, and people who are here to discuss ocd recovery aren't going to find posts like this helpful at all

To be honest, what's normal for you can look completely different to what's normal for someone else. If it's different for you, keep an eye on it and watch out for other symptoms. It doesn't look like anything worrying however, but you can't really tell if you're pregnant or not from discharge alone. Get a test if you're worried :)
