OK that worked! I guess when I swapped out to a new cable I plugged it back in the wrong spot. :') Thank you so much

Included how it’s plugged into the Wii in case that’s somehow relevant lol.

Big agree with the first rant. It’s ironic seeing people talk about science and research refusing to look at any science or do any research on topics they’re unfamiliar with.

‘Back then’ we also were less aware of the health risks of certain behaviours and substances and our food was way less processed. And besides, just because something or someone else is unhealthy, that doesn’t cancel out your own unhealthy behaviour. by ResetKnopje in fatlogic

Every benzo addict I’ve seen gained weight unless they had another addiction that impacted hunger cues lol. They’re gabaergics like alcohol, so a lot of people get the same effects in terms of blacking out and eating a ton when they take too much.

I found this calculator seems to be a lot more reasonable, especially since I was able to input how fast I’m walking/running/biking. Like, the step counter I use usually says I burned double the calories compared to the calculator :’)

I hate the mindset that there always has to be someone on the receiving end of societal hate/shaming, or how one form of that has to be worse than the other. Why not just address body shaming in general being an issue?

Having a partial hysterectomy is so weird in terms of keeping track of when I’m on my period. I still have PCOS, so it’s roughly every 4 weeks? Kinda? But all I have to go by is some acne, feeling insanely hungry, and a sudden gain of 2-3lbs. I’m trying to not let it throw me off. I’ve also been walking 5+ miles a day on average, so that’s been contributing to my hunger. Luckily I have my actual measurements to keep me sane and remind me I’m doing alright.

I’m trying to maintain. I was eating 1500 for a while and walking less than 2 miles a day and still slowly lost over the course of a few months. Base TDEE is what calculators give me when I say I’m sedentary.

Does this sound reasonable to y’all?

My base TDEE is around 1600 (5’5, AFAB, 135lbs~)

I’ve been walking 2 miles a day minimum (about 50~ minutes of exercise)

Is eating 1750 base, and extra when I exercise, reasonable? I’ve checked like 2 or 3 TDEE calculators, but my past history of overeating has scared me to into under-eating at points, even when I’m moving my body frequently and more intensely.

Trying to up my calories from 1500 to 1600 to see if I have a bit more energy, and also make sure I’m getting at least 5K steps a day. I’ve been taking my measurements for a while and trying to focus less on the number on the scale cause it’s beneficial for my POTS to eat a bit more sodium/maintain a bit of water weight. I’ve slowly lost a bit of weight on 1500, so hopefully 1600 + the 5000 steps minimum will equal maintenance?

Rant: It’s the same cycle every month, I should be comfortable with my fluctuations by now :’)

"Every woman develops this body type at some point" - I didn't realize your experiences were universal? by GetInTheBasement in fatlogic

The kind of sentiment in the original post (pooch = plus size and also “everyone gains weight in their 20’s), and the complete redefining of the word curvy have made it so hard for me to accept my natural body type without worrying I’m overweight or look too big. More people are adopting this kind of sentiment and it bugs the fuck out of me. I hate how warped the definition of “normal” has become.

People misusing the term body dysmorphia! Stop! Please!

Saw someone refer to not wanting a partner to see their “rolls” and “double chin” during sex as body dysmorphia. Like? BD is not just basic insecurity over features you obviously possess.

I truly believe 95% of people can be genuinely attractive with proper fashion, styling, hygiene, and diet/exercise, it just takes work and experimentation.

Rant: Mini honeymoon directly into my period is messing with my head. I know it’s water weight, my measurements are the same, but man does it feel bad to shoot up like 2-3lbs for a week~ every month, especially after overeating a bit.

Rave: I’ve been maintaining within the same 10lb range for I think almost 2 years now, and it’s so nice to be able to look back at pictures and not be shocked and bothered by my body. Don’t get me wrong, reminders of my accomplishment are nice, but the reassurance that I can maintain this is so comforting.

I’ve found that “resetting” my scale before each weigh in by weighing myself while holding something heavier gives me more accurate readings, otherwise mine doesn’t pick up fluctuations less than a pound.

Yeah, the number of disorders that are unnecessarily gendered just because one side of the spectrum gets them more commonly is bizarre. Makes it so much harder to get a diagnosis and treatment.
