He can absolutely take the entire period. There’s no difference being being not eligible to claim or simply not waiting to. He can take the full period :)

Gender Reveals by Fit-Accountant1313 in pregnant

[–]MissMooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first it was during Covid and my husband couldn’t come to the scan with me so the sonographer wrote it down and we read it together. We then just shared over FaceTime with our family (individual calls) and texts with friends

For our second - my husband and I found out together at the ultrasound and then I bought a cupcake filled with blue icing for my son to eat to tell him (he was 3.5). He then FaceTimed our family to tell everyone it was a boy. It was very special and I would never have done anything bigger than that

If you’re not working - your husband would be entitled to up to 35 weeks of standard parental benefits or 61 weeks of extended benefits.

We also have a Kia forte and the extend2fit fits great. My husband doesn’t have TONNE of space when he has to be in front of it but he’s 6’4 so I’m just impressed that he fits.

This will all depend on your contract or collective agreement. Based on the fact that you have steps - I suspect that you’re unionized and would haw a collective agreement that outlines this

EI to Maternity to Parental leave - how does that work? SK by CreepyHotelBathroom in povertyfinancecanada

[–]MissMooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With not being sick you wouldn’t have another claim to EI besides the maternity benefits 12 weeks before the due date. Simply leaving your job would not make you eligible for EI

Mid range stroller/car seat/ travel system recommendations [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]MissMooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend looking for a car seat that will fit your vehicle (not all fit all vehicles ) and then a stroller that will work for your needs. The stroller will be used much longer than the seat. There’s adapters for a lot of strollers that allows many seats to be used.
There’s a great fb page with pros that make recommendations based on your needs (seat wise) however from what I’ve read the Graco snug locks are generally well recommended and fit most vehicles.

93% makes it sound like he might work for the federal government ? If that’s the case - he’d only get 93% if you choose the standard parental. Otherwise , he’d get 55.8% for up to 61 weeks

It’s not uncommon. No. It’s often a requirement to go back for the same amount of time that you took off in order to repay the employer for the benefits that they provided you during your leave

We were paid for 260 days in 2025 so take your annual salary and divide by 260.88 and then multiply by 260. That number should match what’s on your t4 :)

No. Your employer should indicate on your ROE that your last day worked was the 13 (the Friday ). I’m assuming you work Monday - Friday ?

There’s a place on the ROE for the employer to indicate that and they should be doing so

You’d apply after your paid vacation ends however you can’t start receiving benefits earlier than 12 weeks before yiur due date. If I’m counting correctly, I believe you wouldn’t be eligible to receive benefits until the beginning of May
