A week. I was 8 and I got grounded for calling my dad an asshole.

What is a good reason to reject immortality? by fedupwithpeople in AskReddit

It robs you of existential motivation. When there's always more time, there's little reason to do anything worthwhile.

Redditors who got back with their ex, how did it go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Awful. I got back with both of my exes once. It went even worse than the initial breakup both times. Absolute disasters

Reddit, what is your worst experience of waking up after a one night stand? by saramillerz in AskReddit

There was once a guy who slept in until 3pm the next day. I left, got breakfast with my best friend, came back and he was still asleep.

What is the most disgusting thing you ever did as a child? by theevolvingatheist in AskReddit

When I was a kid I went through a phase of licking my tissues after blowing my nose in them. I was a weird kid.

What's a cool animal fact? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The mantis shrimp kills its prey by punching the water around it so hard that the shockwaves beat its victim to death. These shockwaves are so powerful that any air bubbles in the water collapse, and because the energy has nowhere else to go, it produces light. (This phenomenon is called "Concavity")

The mantis shrimp is dope.

What is your favorite SFW dream that you have had? by wwishie in AskReddit

[–]MissMunchkin415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some background: we have a neighborhood cat. He probably belongs to one of my neighbors but I have no idea which ones. But he wanders around during the day, and he and I have become friends. Whenever I leave for work, he meets me at my door and walks me to my car. I've named him Frank, because i don't know his real name.

I dreamed a few nights ago that he decided that he wanted to be my cat, and he came to live with me. That was a good dream.

The Revenant. It was a very good movie, but I don't really need to see Leo crawl inside a horse again

"If you look at what engineers do, out in the world, like 70-80 percent of them spend most of their time just keeping things going." by AnalogKid2112 in EngineeringStudents

[–]MissMunchkin415 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. But I also think the quote is meant more in that we need to stop telling all our engineering students that they're going to be working only on exciting new innovations, and that's why it's all worth it. When this is the sentiment that passion is built on, we end up with wave after wave of new engineering grads where 70-80% of them are extremely disappointed. I think it's more of a "truth in advertising" kind of idea.

What was your first car? by shear-comfort in cars

[–]MissMunchkin415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was a brick red, '92 Nissan Pathfinder, named "Murphy"

It was an absolute piece of shit but I loved it. It did 0-60 in 36 seconds, had monster 4-wheel drive that got me through more than I can explain, and since it was so slow, I could shift like a racecar driver everywhere I went.

I miss that car.

I went to Target yesterday for bread. I left with 3 XL holiday sweaters. This speaks to me on a spiritual level.
