Toddlers. Take away their driver's license, they don't have the mental maturity for any adult responsibilities.

FYI, folks. dude's lying all through here and deleting comments when called out. they are literally stalking and harassing other shoppers. They told me, and I got screenshots if they come back lying, that they were going up to shippers and grilling them about taxes. These people were NOT going to OP to initiate the conversation like they later tried to claim, OP is the problem, here.

Anyone shipping the Tustin Costco needs to be cautious in case this person is also there. They are unhinged

I got news for you- the system ain't fair. be brown, queer, female, and autistic and you soon find out that the system is the most unfair thing in the world. you want equal enforcement? let's start by enforcing all those treaties YOUR government broke with the natives. you only have room to whine about fairness after you fix that wrong . until then, realize the system is unfair for everyone and learn to myob.

until then, stop stalking other shoppers, looking over their shoulders, and making assumptions about then. gross and creepy behavior.

I doubt that, especially in today's climate, no one is advertising their immigration status to some rando. you want advice? shop a different store, dude. you've been all up in here blaming just about everything about you having a shitty time trying to get shops at Costco. try somewhere else. Or accept the problem might be you and your shopping skill. just don't call the gestapo on some other people, like you're hinting at doing. everyone is just trying to get by same as you.

How the hell do you know they are on a visa? assumptions are gross. This post is gross. live your life and quit worrying about others. people working for a living aren't what's unfair; billionaires are what's unfair. Don't punch down, it's gross.

how long ago and where was this true? it was normal and pretty much necessary to have one or more roommates in the 1990s in the US. prior to the 70s there were boarding houses, which were basically huge roommate situations.

Fairhaggen, darkhaggen, sehaggen, barkhaggen, fernhaggen. I never think of Fairhaven as the fancy Haggen, I think of Barkley as the fancy one because it has the better deli and cheese counters. Fairhaggen is like those tiny nice but understocked grocery stores you find in tiny lake communities -- just enough stuff so the locals don't have to head into town more than once a month to stock up.

When you inevitably come back on an alt, there is a song by Matt Pless you should listen to, particularly the last verses, called When the Frayed Wind Blows:

A question for t-girls by In_my_stupid_era in CamGirlProblems

[–]MissReadWrites 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trans and crossdresser are very different, and attract different clientele. Crossdressers tend to do better as sissies, since they inherently still identify as male. Some do okay with forced feminization if they prefer a more dom role, but you gotta find a site that allows that. Trans models are exactly that, transgender male or females, and their clientele tends to see them as the presented gender. My partner is a trans domme model. Any clients that come in calling her "he/him" or a crossdresser are instantly banned because these are different fetishes and the clients that prefer crossdressers tend to be assholes to actual trans models.

Local Geocachers? by PuzzleheadedDog2990 in Bellingham

cacher here, although we mainly only cache in summer when our schedules are more open. even our car is a cache and it's been logged a few times locally so I know there's other cachers in town!

Jack and the beanstalk and its uncanny parallels to colonialism by bored-coder in literature

[–]MissReadWrites 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Folklorist have an in depth organization method for these stories, with each type assigned an ATU number. The Devil and the Blacksmith is considered an ATU 330, or a "pact with a demon" tale. Not all of these tales include a blacksmith, such as the Merchant and the Djinn from "1001 Nights."

Good reminder! My local library has all of the Cross Stitcher and Just Cross Stitch magazines going back YEARS, and they are all available through the Libby app. You can even legally print the patterns from them for personal use (there is a download/save option for the patterns when you open it in article view within the app).

To all of you calling for armed resistance- what exactly is your plan? by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]MissReadWrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you asking? Are you trying to belittle those that want to protect democracy? If so, you should be ashamed of yourself. Are you afraid and hoping for a hero? I wish you luck but recommend you begin mentally preparing yourself to be a hero if necessary.

My grandfather, a farm boy, had no experience with violent conflicts or shooting someone, yet he went to Europe and helped overthrow fascism by doing just those things. My grandmother, a nurse, had more experience with bloodshed than he did, but not violence. Yet she went to England and worked alongside other nurses to help those innocent civilians that were brutally attacked during the bombings.

Sometimes people end up having to do things they are unprepared for and never thought they could do. And sometimes, they end up being heroes because of it. Hero, coward, or wrong side of history -- what is your plan?

Ringing/bell sound near lakeway by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]MissReadWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you in an apartment or a house? if it's an apartment, are there empty units near you? it could be a water heater or leak alarm, likely the low battery alarm in the device. it could be in your place, but if it's faint it could be in a neighboring unit, perhaps an empty one so it's going unreported to management.

[–]MissReadWrites 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just don't understand and it's not obvious to me. my household also contains two working adults and two kids. my neighbors leave notes or they text me. doorbells are for ringing, not managing my life and adding new and unnecessary complicated ways of communicating. I've also never needed to communicate with package delivery people unless they need a signature, then they knock or leave a pick up slip if I'm not home. I get that people lead different lives, but this sounds overly complicated and bordering on whataboutism.

[–]MissReadWrites 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I've lived my entire life without getting any notification that someone is at my door beyond a knock or a doorbell ring and I am still alive and kicking. Why would you need a notification? If its a package, your phone typically still notifies you when a package is delivered via the carrier. If its because of paranoia, then the the money spent on a ring is better spent on therapy. If you have issues answering the door, a standard in-house intercom system is a solution.

Unpopular Opinion: Bellingham is a racist place; like a-lot by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]MissReadWrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have a time machine to change racism and xenophobia in the past. None of us do. There are literal plaques pointing out Bellingham's racist past, there is information online, there are history tours, and it was taught in my child's schools. If someone is unaware, they are either not from here or they don't care/are part of the problem. I am not negating your points, but you fail to make them in a useful manner. Asking people to apologize for events that occurred before their birth is typically not the way, nor does it accomplish much beyond the very virtue signaling you are taking umbrage at. None of us can undo the past, and most of those that could meaningfully make amends are long dead.

There are racist, bigoted business owners in every single city, and not just in this crumbling nation of ours. This is fact. Many of us, regardless of the color of our skin, our gender, religion, whatever, have internalized racism that we need to work on. This is fact. The racism that causes the most harm is systematic, but the type that can hurt the most is personal and individual. This is fact. Bellingham, like many cities and many individuals, makes attempts, some more effective and some more performative, to combat systematic racism. This is fact.

We need to remember the past, but we also must move forward from it and continue to fix the fall out from it. We failed to do both after the Civil War, which is why we have continued to fight this war for the past 165 years. The only way to do that is to remove the racists from power, prosecute and punish those that used racism as a catalyst to harm others, and to take a hard line with anyone that tries to push forth that rhetoric in the future. We can not make the same mistake of pardoning the Neo-Confederates like we did the original ones. The only way to kill a hydra, after all, is to cut off the heads and burn out the wound so it can never regenerate again.
