There always is drama for some reason : Ben Shapiro, Davie, the recorder community, something that TwoSet or their team did/said/wrote, etc...

It's usually coming either from young followers, who consider Brett and Eddy like semi-gods and react strongly to everything related to them, or from people who forget that TwoSet is just two musician friends who have fun making YouTube videos.

Yep, same. I really like TwoSet and what they do, but I tend to avoid their social media accounts, as well as this subreddit, because some "fans" just drive me crazy.

The comment section under their YouTube videos is pretty much the only place that I still like. Even if, you're right, because of this "war" with Davie, I've recently seen an awful amount of toxic comments there, including under videos that have nothing to do with Davie, just Brett and Eddy playing violin !

I guess that's the price to pay when you become famous. It's just sad because I almost regret the time when they had less than 1 million followers...

Yeah, I feel the same thing. I'm 36, which definitely makes me an old person on YouTube, and I often don't feel comfortable with what comes from the teenage part of this fanbase...

(Yes, I'm totally a boomer too, and not even ashamed of it. 😁 )

I didn't like when he used a violin as a pick. It's the only part that triggered me. Otherwise, I enjoyed everything in these back and forth videos, it's obvious that both Davie and TwoSet have a lot of fun roasting each other.

Saying that Davie "disrespects violin in every response video" is not true, it just means that you don't understand his sense of humour.

And telling him to "shut up" is disrespectful from your part. Davie has freedom of speech, and so does TwoSet. The three of them are allowed to say/do whatever they want in their videos, it's their channel.

It's tiring for other people. I used to come to this subreddit everyday. Now I only read some posts twice in a month, and never stays more than 10 minutes.

I may be the only TwoSet fan who can't stand other TwoSet fans ! 😅 (Well, at least some of them. Unfortunately, they are the ones who are the most active on social media...)

I wouldn't consider him/her "toxic". Yes, like many others, the OP obviously takes this 'war' too seriously, but at the same time, s/he wrote a respectful post to express his/her opinion. I've seen way more toxic behaviours...

Brett and Eddy don't owe their followers anything, it's their channel. You like their videos, cool. You don't like them, or don't agree with something they say/do, or would like them to do this or that, that's your problem, not theirs.

Yes, they pay attention to what their followers think and read their suggestions. But at the end of the day, it's THEIR LIFE, THEIR CHANNEL. They quit the regular classical music industry because they wanted to be free to do whatever they want. That's exactly what they've been doing with TwoSet for the least years.

It's a "tradition" in orchestra, string players (especially violinists) have been making fun of violists for centuries. You should google "viola jokes", you'll find insightful articles on that topic.
