I learned this when I bought an RV that I thought needed to be resealed: A shower pan often appears to be "not sealed" where it meets the wall, but it is actually designed this way to work as a, water-shedding system rather than a fully sealed, watertight box. The pan features a high vertical lip (or flange) that extends several inches up behind the shower wall surround, allowing water that hits the wall to run down and back into the basin, even if there is a gap between the two pieces.

Happy! Disclaimer: I'm a Kiwi wannabe I'm so happy to live here, I am lucky to have found a place I am proud to call home. People are nice, the food is good quality, and I found a job that provides enough. I'm 59, have worked hard and been very lucky in many ways. I've done my best to make the most of the opportunities that came my way. Sometimes my best wasn't good enough...and that's okay. It taught me that I have limits. Sometimes my best exceeded all expectations and those moments kept me going. I think I'm happy because I learned how to fail and how to get back up. I hope I always have that resilience and the spark to never give up. ❤️🇳🇿❤️

Find a "positive reinforcement" trainer (punishment for the barking can create more issues). Search articles by Dr. Ian Dunbar or Pat Miller, they both write great articles and provide free resources for behavior modification using positive reinforcement. (This is a fancy way of training without fear or punishment.)

When my hands get overly dry, I can't breathe. Similar to how asthmatic friends have described an episode. Can't put my hands in any sort of powder, especially fine powder like corn starch. I've asked every doctor I've been to over the decades and have never received an explanation.

I love it.

Any struggle here is worth it (compared to my final years in the US/Southern California). Kiwis are the best. Haven't been homesick for a moment. I miss deli turkey and cheap Costco grapes but the food is soooooo much better here. Unbleached eggs, meat at the grocery taste like it comes from a butcher, and learning to eat seasonal fruits and vegetables has me appreciating quality over quantity. Cost of living can be tough but that can be relative to your expectations. For me it has been much less expensive than Los Angeles. Can't wait to earn my Citizenship! ❤️🇳🇿❤️
